Second Sunday @ Damansara Jaya -Loved every bit of it.

So, today I went around in search for pancakes. Not the usual ones, I was looking for something different – a pancake with a twist of some sort. What better way to discover new things than Google. I got on to Google and there was a list of cafes serving what seemed to be rated good pancakes. Second Sunday was included in that list and they are noted for offering several different kinds of pancakes. Since I happened to be near Atria Mall in Damansara Jaya , this cafe was my choice.

Local Penkek, 18 Ringgit

This dish consisted of 5 layers of thin pandan flavored pancakes, topped with three slices of caramelized bananas, sprinkled with dried bits of coconuts pieces. A side of maple syrup and vanilla ice cream was also served.

The combination of all five items in the Local Penkek was so decadent and delicious. The pancakes were served fresh out of the pan – it was soft and warm. Then, you mix it up with the cold ice cream and maple syrup – the sensation is inexplainable. Add in slices of the caramelized bananas – heaven for your taste buds. The pancake was so worth it. Anyone desperate for a good dose of pancakes, this should be one on your list. The only down side was that the maple syrup was not enough. Understandably so, since there were 5 slices of pancakes it needs to coat. By the third slice, the inner part of the pancakes did not have a drop of the syrup on it.

Number Five, 18 Ringgit

Number Five was mainly made up of mozzarella cheese, chicken breast, pineapples, mushrooms and pesto sauce, wrapped with crispy tortilla wraps. This dish was accompanied by a side of fries and coleslaw. The tortilla wrap was the bomb! The melted mozzarella cheese + pineapple was so good. The cheese was literally like the ones you get from real good pizzas, the kind that stretches and sticks to your hands. YUMMM! Add that with the sweetness from the pineapple, the crispiness of the tortilla wrap and the tenderness of the chicken breast = Food Orgasm yawwww. The sides were delicious too. Fries were thin and crispy and coleslaw did not have an overpowering taste of tartar. Overall, it was a delicious finger licking dish.
