Touche Pastries & More @ Sek. 17,PJ – Still my all time favourite

Nestled in the quiet neighbourhood of Section 17 lies Touche Pastries. I was driving around this totally unassuming locality looking for Decanter , a restaurant with good ambiance and food, as my friend was feeling nostalgic. Apparently he often visited another branch of Decanter years ago and was elated that there happened to be one in Petaling Jaya too. However, as we were driving down the row of shops leading to the restaurant, this cafe caught our eye instead. Located just four shops away from one another, Touche exuded a chill and stress free vibe that instantly caught our attention

This the kind of cafe that tickle you tastebuds as soon as you step through the front door. They make everything from scratch – including their pastries, bread and cakes. So yea, the aroma of butter toasted pastries is in the air literally all the time – if you intend to visit the cafe on your own, be warned – you may end up magically influenced by your nose into ingesting more food that you intend to. I went there with with a friend fully intending to enjoy a meal of chicken sandwich and pesto pasta, which I nevertheless this, it was all so delicious. However, in the duration it took for our meals to arrive, we both somehow ended up ravaging two pastries in the process and we both do not usually order pastries because we believe in the effort of waiting, it makes the whole main meals so much more yummy. This isn’t like us but I cant say I regret it – we were both stuffed by the end of it, but it was all soooooooo mouth wateringly delicious.

Here is another reason why/how the pastries influenced us to gobble them up greedily – it’s literally in your face with an invisible sign that says “Eat Me, Eat Me”.

Rosemary Chicken Sandwich, 18.90 ringgit

This was soooooooo yummy. The oatmeal bread used had a fresh sweetish taste to it. Inside it was a generous amount of mayo coated chicken pieces, tomatoes , diced celery, rosemary, mixed greens with a side of salad. I can’t say anything else except yummy!! It was soft, sweet, crunchy and an absolute delight.

All Pesto Chicken, 21.90 ringgit

I kid you not – if you are a fan of pesto pasta and you happen to be in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor – and you like having the best, do head to Touche please. This right here, would take the cake for being the most delicious pesto pasta in this region. It is soooooooooo delicious. The was a generous amount of pesto and pasta, chunky pieces of chicken, basil and olive oil. It was absolutely divine, so mouth wateringly divine. I will order this again and again. A must try if you love pasta.

Phat Thai Grilled Chicken Salad, 17.90 ringgit

I will just sum it up for you, cause this is another good dish. I literally have nothing to say except say good things. So, here it is – this salad can turn a non-veg into ‘an almost veg’, and I say an almost veg because there are generous amounts of chicken pieces in there, so you cannot say it is fully vegetarian, right? I can eat this every day for the rest of my life if they are willing to reduce the price, lol. It’s pretty steep for an everyday consumption  but other than that, this is the go to salad. The reason non vegetarians do not fancy salad as much as vegetarians do is because there is only so much you can do with a salad and most often there is an overload of vinegar, apple cider vinegar or mayonnaise, but this salad is an exception. This salad comes with a variety of greens, walnuts, chicken, egg, cream cheese and chilli lime dressing. The whole combination worked so well together, i have nothing to complain about.

** I would like to apologize for not taking any pictures of the pastries I had before the main meals arrived. It was sooo yummy that I ravished it upon arrival. Will do a review on that the next time I head there, which I definitely will sometime soon !
