Damansara Kim is seen as a rather profitable neighborhood of late, evidently from the influx of cafes and eateries around the area – one of them being Ho Li Chow. This kopitiam is located within the row of shops opposite another months old cafe Lat Tali Lat.
The inside of this kopitiam is cosy, clean and well spread out. It has a resemblance of a typical Malaysian kopitiam – simple looking, comfortable with fast service. The food it serves are basically local favorites like mee siam, nasi lemak and assam laksa.
Acar Fish Set, 12.50 ringgit
This was absolutely delicious. The set consisted of a fish marinated in turmeric, vinegar, sugar and garlic + a bowl of rice + Ju Hoo Char ( vegetable on the side that is made up of fried turnip, pork and anchovies. The combination of the vinegar and sugar on the fish created a sweetish slightly picked flavor that complimented the rice and fried turnip very well. The fish gravy was soo yummy that it was completely devoured within 5 minutes lol, however, this kopitiam was generous enough to refill my plate even without me asking – Yes, they were pretty attentive to their customers’ need.I enjoyed this fish set and would love to give it ago again.
Bihun Siam, 10 ringgit
This another yummy dish. There was the noodles, prawns, eggs, vegetables – all in generous potions with egg and sambal belacan on the side. It was nice, felt a lot like home cooked noodles, which does not come by often, so it was great. If you are looking for yummy fried bihun, give this a go.
Would I head here again?
Yes, why not? If i happened to be in the area and fancy myself some kopitiam food, I would certainly head here.
