Miru @ Damansara Uptown – Delicious Molten Lava Cake

Miru is one of those cafes that when you type ” Good dessert cafes in Damansara Uptown” or ” Good molten lava cake in Kuala Lumpur” on Google – it is bound to show up in the list. Since it kept popping up in many other list, I decided that today was the day I go and give this dessert cafe a try.

The first thing that hits you is how crowded the cafe is – that ought to tell you something. Perhaps this cafe does live up to the positive reviews it garnered online. Every table was taken except for a tiny table right by the door. Since there was just the 2 of us, we snatched up that table before anyone got to it cause seriously, people keep coming in every 5 minutes.

I knew what I wanted when I headed there – molten lava cake, so I proceeded to place my order asap as I noticed many tables were still waiting for their desserts to arrive. The earliest I can place my order, the better, hoping it would arrive sooner than later. Ordering is done at the counter, after which there would give you a table number. With many people moving around, it was quite difficult for me to snap a picture of their menu, so kindly copy and paste  the link provide into your search engine if you would like to view it.  ( http://www.mirudessertcafe.com/menu1.html )

The molten cake arrives and it smells yummy, the kind of aroma that smells so good you kind of know the dish is going to be awesome. The cake was hot and warm, which got me all excited cause I could not wait for the melted Belgian chocolate inside to ooze out once it is cut into. There also was about 8 pieces of strawberry and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.

I went for it. Cut the cake into half and out oozed the melted chocolate. My first spoon consisted of warm chocolate cake + warm melted Belgian chocolate + some vanilla ice cream.  Oooo man, mouth-gasm right there. It was soooooooo good. The warm and  slightly bitter sweet taste from the cake and melted chocolate creates a burst of flavors when it meets the cold, sweet vanilla ice cream. It totally did live up to all the positive reviews it has online. Very satisfying, indeed.

Would I head here again?

I sure am. Not only would I head there again for the lava cake, I would do so to try the other items on their menu. Since they are well known for their toast, I will give that a try next. Can’t wait!
