Located in a quiet island-like business park within Taman Desa, this unassuming cafe can be easily missed if you do not intentionally seek it. Why? Because it is located on the first floor and also due to the fact that this is a Business Park. While there seem to be a number of eateries at almost every corner, certain corners are generally more quiet. For instance, the mid part of this island-like location has a more vibrant personality as it houses a few cafes, an indian restaurant, medical center and a yoga center. The outer part of this mini island, is generally more quiet. While it houses several malay restaurants and a mini market, it is mostly made up of serious looking offices – and you rarely see people walking around this part. Wild Sheep Chase is located at the corner of one of these outer layers. Hence why I said that it was an unassuming and easily missed cafe, unless if you are intentionally seeking it. Fret not – Waze will lead you right to it π
Or for those of you who are somewhat familiar with the area, get on to the Federal Highway/ Lebuhraya Persekutuan, drive along KL direction, not Shah Alam – when you are nearing the Cheras turning, keep to your extreme left and take the ramp up to Old Klang Road, then just go straight for about 8 minutes till you see a turning to Taman Desa to your left – and there on your left is the business park.
On the outside, do not expect to see a blatantly obvious sign that says ” Wild Sheep Chase Cafe”. Nope, what you get is a small white hectagon that carries the name – again, a hectagon that is easily missed, as you can see – the building itself is white and on top of that, the cafe windows are pretty tinted. The only thing that distinguishes this from being mistaken with another office is the fact that somehow through the tinted windows – you can see the yellow cafe lighting – the kind that screams CAFE!! rather than OFFICE!.
Once you get inside though, it was vibrant and brightly lite up. By lite up here – I do not mean plenty of artificial lights everywhere, no – I was referring to the natural kind of light, which was really nice. The cafe itself was pretty spaced out, no clutter – plenty of room to move around. You get an easy going and relaxed vibe here. There were a few lovebirds sitting at the corners, 2 tables having their business meetings there and a pair talking about migration. It was an interesting mix, especially if you like to people watch, lol. This is a table order cafe , so there is no need to place order at the counter. There seem to be one guy that serves the front of the cafe and he is very attentive – so trust me when I say that you are bound to have a pleasant experience here.
Wild Sheep Chase is notable known for their souffles and lava cake, so naturally one of those is what I ordered.
Honestly Devilish, 23 ringgit
This was super delicious. I love lava cakes and this was a really good one. I have this thing with lava cakes – more like an itch. Before I head to a specific dessert cafe, I like to go online and see reviews and most often with lava cakes, there are plenty of pictures and videos online that shows chocolate oozing out of the cake as soon as you cut into it – yea, I would then head to that cafe and test it out only to be disappointed every now and then because it does not ooze out. That however was not the case here, here it oooooozed just fine. The chocolate itself was super thick and delicious and weirdly enough tasted orange-gy. I never really fancied orange flavored chocolate but boy was this good. The lava cake was hot, light and fluffy. When you take a spoonful of the lava cake + chocolate + vanilla ice cream, really good. It was not overly sweet, thank god. Just the right amount of sweetness to make it a really good lava cake.
Dark Chocolate, 13 ringgit , Cafe Latte, 11 ringgit
Both drinks were good cafe quality. Tasted as it should, no complains.
