WOP Coffee @ Dataran Sunway- Another Satisfying Find (PERMANENTLY CLOSED)

I was at Dataran Sunway today, decided to see what looks good and new around the area for lunch and that is how I came across WOP Coffee. Barely 2 months old, this cafe is located within the stretch of shops that is not as popular as the ones adjacent/facing Sunway Nexis.

The cafe was spread out and had an island in the middle. The counter and the drink making were done in the middle and all around it were tables and chairs for patrons to sit. There is no table order here, which means as soon as you enter the cafe, make your way up to the island and take a look at the menu, once you have decided what you want – place your order, pay and have a seat. They had some recent hits playing on the radio, which was cool because while waiting for my lunch to arrive, I had some ‘sing along’ going on, lol. Fun times. The cafe was quiet, besides one other person, I was the only one there. I actually kindda enjoyed that quiet time alone as it so happened that this day was one of those days that being in a boisterous, noisy and crowded place would just overwhelm me. yes, I do have one of those days, several times a month actually.

Pesto Chicken, 16.90 ringgit

This was good. Really good. if you fancy yourself something light and tasteful yet healthy, this should fit the bill.  What you would get is a piece of tender chicken breast + pesto sauce + thin slices of mashed potatoes. You cut through that chicken breast, take a piece of that moist, tender and juicy chicken breast and rub it into that pesto sauce, make sure it has covered up most of the chicken then add on a slice of the potato – now, that is what I call a mouthful. You may no like a mouthful for fear that you cant taste each item on the plate but trust me the burst of flavors you would get by mixing everything up is delightful and worth every bit. I like this dish, certainly do not mind eating it again.

WOP Chicken Burger, 23.90 ringgit

Prior to ordering this, I was skeptical. 23.90 ringgit was kindda steep for a burger no matter how good or ‘recommended’ it is. I decided to give it a try anyway because the guy at the counter insist that it really is that good. As soon as the burger arrived though, I knew it – it certainly lived up to its rather steep cost. The first thing that got me jumping in joy was the fries – sweet potato fries yawwwww and loads of it !! Yum Yum Yummmmm ! The burger looked awesome. At first glance, it kindda resembled a soft shell burger, with all those things sticking out of the patty. However, I soon realized that those bits that were sticking out were chicken skin. Fascinating, The chcicken burger was awesome. It had one of the best patties I have had in a long time. It was thick and packed with flavors. Then there was the egg, cheese, sauce and bread.  It was soooo good. It is definitely a filling dish, so keep you stomach empty if you intend to indulge or share it with someone like I did. Trust me, it can last you till the next day, that is how filling it was for me. Loved this dish. Really good.

Would I head here again?

Of course, the food was really good and I visit Dataran Sunway quite a bit, so yea.  It would be my go to place to unwind. Good food + quiet + good music, what more can I ask for.
