So basically, if you want a cafe that offers you a noisy, energetic and cheerful vibe, head to Awesome Canteen. Like seriously, no joke. Food was not bad either, typical cafe food. The pull for me was totally the lively ambiance/environment. Therefore, this will be a relatively short post.
Chicken Paleo Burger, 26.90 ringgit
Okay, first up – this is the only cafe/restaurant I have been to that named the dish they presented a burger. Like seriously? It is universally known that burgers comes with buns. This dish might as well be call Grilled Chicken? When it first arrived, I was like – da hell is this? The only reasoning I can come up with is the whole ‘Paleo’ thing – with it being more healthy and all, the paleo diet – they decided to loose the carbs and boy, was I disappointed. This is not a burger, Grrrrr!! Secondly, the salad occupied almost half the plate + it had no dressing. Tasted blend and tasteless. It only became okay when I mixed in the pumpkin? and scrambled egg in. The chicken was okay, nothing to brag about. Definitely not worth 26.90 ringgit. If you are into healthy eating and all, then go ahead and spend 26.90 bucks for this Paleo chicken, if you are not, take my advise, for people like us – the not so healthy kind, skip this please and find something else that is more yummy.
Roast Chicken Pesto + Melted Cheese Sandwich, 20.90 ringgit
Thank god they followed the fundamental rule of sandwiches – that it comes with bread. if they had not – I would blow a gasket. This was a pretty good sandwich. There were slices of roast chicken, loads of cheese, greens and fries on the side. Compared to what I had before, this was satisfying.
Would I head here again?
Hmmmm, if I want a cheerful place to hang out at , that is noisy and full of laughter and people talking and all, then yea, I would head here. For the food specifically , not so much. Like I said in the intro, first for its boisterous environment and then for the food.
