Piccoli Lotti @ Damansara Kim – Delicious Gelato

Okay, this month, we have another addition to the cafe scene in Damansara Kim. A few doors away from Table & Apron is this barely 2 weeks old gelato bar – Piccoli Lotti.

As it says on the front door, the gelatos are freshly made and certainly of premium quality. Piccoli Lotti’s owner spent some time in Itali to master and perfect the art of making gelato. Well, that he certainly did  because the gelatos were really, really good.

I was allowed to taste several of their popular/best selling flavors before making my choice. Their most popular one was Pulut Tai Tai, which I liked. It tasted similar to those rice kuih we can buy from the old Chinese aunties, usually at the market? The one whereby the rice is blue in color and is usually accompanied with kaya? Yea, that one. It taste pretty similar and while I like it – I was not in the mood for it. Let’s just say I had rice for lunch and also having it for tea would not bode well with my stomach. Next flavor was Hazelnut, I gave that a pass too. Then came Pistachio and Durian – Yeeessss !!! Ooooo man, it was finger licking goood yawww. The durian gelato was potent to an extent whereby my car smelled of durian for one whole day. Not that I’m complaining – I loveeeee durian, but to those of you who do not – beware, lol. The flavoring is seriously potent. The pistachio was really a pistachio gelato. Every mouthful felt like you were literally munching on real solid pistachios.  Loved it !

I had the durian gelato in a cup and the pistachio in a cone. Each for 9 ringgit.

I would not change a thing except for one tiny bit – I just wish there would be small bits of actual durian and pistachio scattered around the gelato. That would have made this really good gelatos – phenomenal.

Would I head here again?

Yessss, I most definitely would. I loved the flavors I have tried so far and I sure am going back for more.
