Happ Cafe @ Tropicana Avenue – An ambiance I dig.

You know, how sometimes you just want to eat and relax at a large, spacious cafe that isn’t always crowded ? You get to pick your quiet corner, watch the world go by outside and enjoy a meal ? Happ cafe offers all that – for me at least.

This cafe is located at Tropicana Avenue, a mini commercial hub attached to a condominium complex. Barely a year old, Happ has a whimsical aura to it, a dreamy-like feel – if that makes sense?

The food here was not bad – pretty decent, not exceptionally delicious in a manner that got me jumping in my seat, no, but it was okay nonetheless. However, when you add in the nice ambiance/environment into the picture, the whole experience is positive.

Nasi Lemak, 16.90 ringgit

If you want your nasi lemak fix in the morning, not the tiny, wrapped in a banana leaf kind but more of a full plate of goodies – then this dish would satisfy your craving. What you get is a plate of the usual nasi lemak ingedients + pickled vegetables + a relatively large piece of boneless fried chicken breast fillet. It tasted pretty good, the chicken was crispy and meaty and so was the rest of the ingredients on the plate.

Happ’s Big Breakfast, 24 ringgit

What you get is of the usual Big Breakfast variety. A croissant + mushrooms + tomatoes + potato cubes + red beans + chicken sausage + scrambled egg. It was yummy and tasty. The only downside to this dish was that I while I specifically requested the scrambled eggs to be ‘runny’, when the eggs did make its’ appearance though – it was not runny, instead – it was pretty much well done.  So, yea – besides that, it was generally good.

Would I head here again?

Yes, I would. Mainly for the ambiance it provides and then the decent food they offer.
