Cafe Atas 59 – Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar – Simple Yet Delicious

This is a new cafe, barely a few weeks old. I did not know of the existence of Cafe Atas 59 till 2 days ago, when I was online looking around for brush calligraphy workshops. Yes, besides being a cafe itself, it also is an artistic workspace? and it offers a range of art related workshop, ranging from calligraphy to painting.

The cafe is located on the first floor, next to Pinch Restaurant and above Dr. Chai’s Dental Clinic. You are unlikely to miss it as you will see an art piece at the entrance, before you head on up the steps/stairs. Once you are up the stairs and into the cafe, you head to the counter and place your order. The cafe is spacious. Half of the cafe has the usual cafe seating and the other half is the art space – paints, art easels and etc.

If you want something simple yet delicious, then do give this sandwich a go. It has a homely feel to it because that is exactly what it felt like – home made sandwich. There was 2 slices of toasted white bread + tuna mayo filling with bits of cherry tomatoes + salad on the side.

If you want something simple yet decadent, then do give the cheese sandwich a try. This was sooo yummy! The cheese sandwich consisted of 2 slices of toasted bread + cheese + ham + salad on the side. The cheese had the same effect as the ones used in pizzas, the kind that stretches – mozzarella is it? Yea, good stuff. Yum.

Nutty Banana. 12 ringgit

The pancakes were delicious. It came in a stack of 3. The first layer had chocolate sauce on it and the second + third slices had plenty of banana slices and peanut butter spread on it. It was literally a plate of nutty happiness for me. I love peanut butter and banana and chocolate – this dish offers all 3 on a plate, Yay! Pancakes were soft and fluffy. A delicious wholesome meal to start my day.

Would I head here again?

Yes, I will. I had a thoroughly pleasant and happy experience.
