I skipped breakfast this morning and it was no surprise that by 11.30, I was hungry. By 1 pm though, I was going insane. Work kept me busy, so I could not leave earlier, but when I finally did though – I headed to Milligram all geared up and looking forward to filling my stomach to its fullest, lol.
Guess what though? Today, of all days, someone decided to celebrate a colleague’s birthday – a whole bunch of them, about 20 individuals, occupying 2 large tables – as displayed by the image below. Why why whyyy today…
Ooooo noooooo! And prior to ordering, I was told that it would take atleast 45 minutes for food to arrive. I decided to stay on anyways because I was told several times that the food at this cafe was tasty and besides, it wasnt like their service was always slow, no. It just so happen that there was a birthday lunch gathering today, cant be helped.
Milligram had good WIFI though, thank god for good Wifi. I managed to pass time using it to browse Youtube and stuff. Yay! Soon enough though, 30 minutes passed and walaaa, food arrives
and desserts …. tempting…
They also had some good looking desserts. I was very tempted, yes… but it wasnt a good idea to order my self one if I intend to fully relish my main meal. So, I just settled for a chocolate cooki – 5 ringgit, which was yummy. An XL size cookie with bits of chocolate chuncks in between. Just wished they had heated it up before serving though, the gooeyness as a result would have been extra yummyy.
Pesto Pasta, 21 ringgit + Chicken, 5 ringgit
True to their word, this dish arrived within 30 minutes, yay !! Verdict? It was totally worth the wait! This was actually the first pesto pasta I had that came with a half done egg – the kind that when you dig into it, the yold oozes out? Yea. When you mix it all up, it becomes gooey, because of the egg – I loved it. The egg goes only as far as that, it does in no way reduces or overpower the taste of pesto. The pesto is still the first n last thing you taste + gooeyness. This combination worked for me. I loved it. They were generous in their fried chicken fillets bits too. It came in relatively large chunks, so when you cut it into small bits, it literally last you until the last spoon of pasta. Yay! This was a good dish, I really enjoyed it.
The Lazy Pig, 27 ringgit
I actually thought this would literally be a cutlet? The kind with meat on the inside and the outside is fried with flour, making it crispy and all? Yea, but that was not the case here. Here, what it basically was a pan fried pork fillet, topped with cheese and bottomed with roasted potatoes. I sure was fooled but do I regret making the order? Not all all. This was simply delicious. It was a modern take on a pork chop. I prefered eating the meat with just the sauce though, I liked the taste. A really good, meaty pork chop. I ate the cheese with the potatoes – yum! Β Something soft and creamy with something crunchy – Β a good combo. You could also stuff some of the pork meat into the slice of bread provided + the cucumbers, and you will have yourself a pork sandwich, lol. I ate it all and enjoyed it.
Would I head here again?
Yes. Most definitely. Food was good, great ambiance. Good customer service too.
