Gato Gateau @ Nexus, Bangsar South – My go-to for a lil Quiet

While most of the eateries are located on the Ground Gloor, Gato is located on the First. Located a few doors away from Thirdwave Cafe, this is where I head to whenever I need a lil quiet or a place to relax after a long, hard day at work. This is one of those cafes that still is able to offer you a little calm, a little quiet despite being fullhouse? I do not know how it happens, but it sure does work for me. Sometimes I drop by to have a drink or two and contemplate on my day and sometimes I spend hours there eating and getting work done on my laptop. Latest english hits will be playing in the background, light chatters here and there, it all just keeps you at ease.

Customer service is awesome. They always welcome you with a smile. Orders are taken by the table. I think they added some items to their menu? atleast, for lunch? I havent drop by for lunch for a few month, so I would not know if it was a current change or something that has been going on for a while but I was excited to give it a try.

** In all my excitement, I snapped a picture of their Drinks & Dessert Menu but totally forgot about their Lunch Specials. Yup, it happens, to the best of us, lol. Will get a snapshot of it during my next visit kay. Apologies.

While waiting for lunch to arrive, I decided to munch of something sweet. Couldnt help it – I was hungry…

Choc-Peanut Butter Muffin, 4 ringgit

This is my favourite. For 4 ringgit – totally worth it. What you would get is gooey chocolate chips scatterred all over with a little peanut butter filling in the middle. Every bite is decadent. Yummmm….

Next to arrive, is another favourite of mine – the Green Juice.

Green Juice, 12 ringgit

This is part of their Blender series. It gives me my dose of healthiness for the day. It is basically a blend of spinach + orange + mint + honey. Delicious! Literally every single time I drop by – I order this. It fills you up and hey – its good for your body.

Grilled Chicken Burger, 22 ringgit

This was goooodddd. Yummmm! It looked simple but as soon as you take your first bite – you’d know it’s different. It all boils down that paste on the patty, as displayed on the image above. Just when I thought I needed some chilli sauce, I took that first bite and decided that that paste was the bomb. I do not know what is in their secret paste but boy was it good. If you are expecting something sweet – then you better think again, because what this paste offers you is heat, spiciness and chilli. When you add in the bread and tenden chicken meat, the flavors from the paste gets toned down and so while  it still offers a “kick”, it occurs in an ‘aftertaste’ sort of way – so those who fear this may be a lil to spicy for you – fear not, it is relatively mild.

Would I head here again?

Mosy definitely. I am sure from my intro – you could have deduced that.
