Next to Pantai Hospital Ampang, there are several row of shops and within this row of shops is where Kofix cafe is located.
It certainly is a neighborhood cafe, judging from its customers. Just a regular place people drop by to eat and simply past time. School kids, exercise junkies, families, friends, office folks – you name it.
They serve the usual cafe food, ranging from big breakfast, smoothies, pastas, burgers, meat and waffles.
Hot Chicken Waffle, 18.90 ringgit
This dish basically came with Belgium waffles + sunny side up + honey + apple pickle + butter chicken. The waffles were great, crunchy and fluffy and accompanied with the honey, some parts of it was soft, wet and soggy – which was awesome because the meaty, crispy chicken only add more crunchiness. So a little wet and a little crunchy makes a good combo. The egg can be eaten with the waffles and chicken but I ate it on its own, simply because I did not fancy the taste of my waffles, honey and chicken being mixed up with runny egg yolks, lol. Overall, it was a pretty good dish for brunch. Just wished they added more honey, lol. I was too hungry to request for more but perhaps next time I will.
Soft Shell Crab Burger, 24.90 ringgit
The burger was tasty. I enjoyed it. There was charcoal bun, crispy soft shell crab coated with flavorful sesame dressing, greens + a side of fries. I have been consuming rice – Chinese, Indian and Malay style the days before, so this was a much needed breath of fresh air. A change from rice to burger – both packed with calories but taste wise, very different. I was satisfied and it was a good burger for brunch.
Would I head here again?
