I have done a review on Tujoh , earlier this year, back when they just opened – ( Tujoh @ Sek. 17, PJ – A cozy lil cafe I fancy ). Recently though, they kindda did an overhaul and got their Menu updated. So, here I was, back here at Tujoh, looking forward to having another pleasant experience.
Interior is still the same. Plenty of old school charm with jazzy french music playing at the background.
On the top, is their Ala Carte option, which changes every 6 months. On the bottom, is their Set Lunches option and this changes every week.
Salmon Fried Rice with SoftShell Crab + Lemonade (Set Lunch), 18 ringgit
This was delicious. I love fried rice that taste like it is home cooked and the rice here tasted just the way I like it. I can’t explain it but it has a welcoming feel to it. Less of the “its a professional dish with bombastic flavors” and more of a ” simple yet delicious” . The soft shell crab was yummy. Crunchy, crispy on the outside and moist and ‘crabby’ on the inside. Just having a spoonful of fried rice + soft shell crab + egg was da bomb. The fried rice was soo yummy that I totally forgot to give it a go with the mint sauce that came with the dish, on the side. So, I cant really comment on how it would taste, lol but yea, just t let you all know – this dish comes with a side of mint sauce.
Chicken Petite Burger, 20 ringgit
This dish was from their Ala Carte Menu. I wanted something with bread and they only had 2 options available under their ‘Burger & Sandwiches’ options. It was either this or Chicken Katsu. The Chicken Petite Burger was more popular apparently, so I decided to give this ago. The presentation looked fancy – served on a platter with 3 mini burgers and plenty of greens in between. Upon tasting it , I liked it but my friend was like – ‘Nah, this ain’t doing it for me’. He preferred the fried rice, lol. I guess, burgers on his term would be those big, chunky burgers with fries on the side. Me on the other hand, being a woman and all, having to keep tabs on the calorie count – this mini burger dish was perfect for me. It tasted pretty good too. Well, if you are expecting a bombastic burger with burst of flavors, then do not order this dish. If you want a burger that is simple yet tasty – then go ahead and order this. The burger itself, all it is composed of is mini burger buns + chicken patty + caramelized onions. That is about it. So yea, it tasted like a burger and yet relatively low on the calorie count compared to many other burgers – it works for me. I liked it.
