Located at 101 Boulevard is this this cafe, Burnt8. How to get here? Waze, of course. You could type Burnt8 into it and it would lead you there but if you do not know where to look, it is easy to miss it and get a parking spot out there is kindda difficult, all fully occupied. So, what I would suggest is head straight to 101 Boulevard and head on under to their car park and park your car in there. There are lifts and stairway everywhere, head on to on of those and make your way to Ground floor. Once you have reached the Ground floor of 101 Boulevard, you need to look out for shop lot num 13A, which is not located within the Boulevard. You would need to walk out and head round the bend – barely took me 5 minutes.
The cafe interior was pretty simple, nothing too fancy or over the top. Mainly focused on a grey theme with blue furnishings.
Lunch Special: Herb Marinated Chicken. 16.80 ringgit + Flavored Tea, 6.80 ringgit + Bread & Butter Pudding, 4 ringgit
The Herb Chicken + rice was okay. Nothing spectacular. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I kindda expected the chicken to be dryer? That is usually how I have my herb chicken and it is exactly how I like it. So, the fact that it was wetter than I would have liked it to be, it kind of dimmed my excitement. Tastewise, it was flavorful, it tasted more like a chicken with gravy that had spiced sprinkled on the top as opposed to the ones I was accustomed to – the chicken literally being infused with herbs. The kind you marinate the chicken with, leave it to soaked for a bit just to allow all the herbs to seep through it and then cook it? Yes, that was not what I got here. So, I was kindda disappointed there but hey , you cant please everyone, right? If you were to remove the whole ‘Herb’ thingy for the dish, it was pretty okay. The usual rice with chicken and gravy.
The bread and butter pudding was the bomb though. It was soooooo yummy! Yummy enough to have washed away my slight let down with the chicken dish, lol. Sweet, gooey, warm with vanilla ice cream oozing down, a nice conclusion to my lunch here.
Green Curry Spaghetti, 16.80 ringgit
Now, this dish right here – this was really tasty. If you are a fan of green curry, then this should be your dish. Every spoonful, mouthful – the green curry taste is evident. Bits of chicken with every spoonful of thick, creamy, delicious green curry spaghetti – imagine that? Delicious.
Would I head here again?
No, I would not. My experience here was not exceptionally different from what another cafe can offer me. If I am located nearby, then perhaps I may drop by but seeing as am not located anywhere near Puchong, I would not return back here. If you are within the Puchong area, then perhaps you’d want to give Burnt8 a try.
