Located just a few doors away from Econsave Taman Len Sen, tucked in a corner of a relatively quiet row of shops, is this cafe. At first glance, for about 5 seconds, I actually thought of giving this eatery a miss. Quite a lot of the other occupants there are the kind that operates at night ? – bars and etc but do keep in mind that it does not resemble the ones in Bangsar – at all, so yea. There were some beer bottles here and there and it just had a very bleh vibe. For a minute there, I was thinking of leaving but since I am already here, might as well walk up the stairs and take a peek.
As I walked up the stairs, I noticed that it actually is pretty clean and inviting. No bleh feeling, nothing. Was actually kindda excited to check the rest of the cafe out.
Not bad at all, ey? Spacious, clean, artistic and welcoming. Here, you order by the counter and if you have any doubts, the servers are more than happy to help. With Chinese music playing softly at the background, chatters of conversation here and there, I had an enjoyable time here.
Set Lunch : Chicken Pesto Pasta + Ribena Soda, 15 ringgit
This dish was good, yummm. I usually like my pesto pasta packed with pesto, which was not the case here. Here, it was more creamy and gooey that it kindda toned down the pesto flavor? Makes sense? Not that I am complaining though, the dish as a whole was awesome. The creamy actually made it all the more appealing. The crunchy bits of chicken + cheese + creamy pesto = Yum!
Summer Asian Chick, 22 ringgit
This was their ‘Popular’ dish under their Chicken Chop option. There were 3 choices and this was their most liked. The dish basically consisted of tender, crispy boneless chicken with cheese + sweet and sour sauce + potato wedges + salad. It was something different. I have not really tasted much of a chicken fillet with sweet and sour sauce presented this way. What I am used to is a crispy chicken fillet with sweet and sour sauce but not chicken chop style. I actually liked it. I liked it even more once I let the the chicken and the wedges to dip in the sauce, to make sure it seeped through the meat and potato – a yummy sweet and soggy meal. The cheese, for me was pretty redundant. It is basically “Cheesedale”, the packaged ones you’d find at every grocery store? The taste is mild , eating it with the meat – I could hardly taste the cheese. It does not matter though, since the taste of the cheese was pretty much non existent, whether it is on the plate or not – does not matter. A delicious dish overall.
Would I head here again?
Most probably not. Not because the food was bad or anything – it was good, I however live on the other side of town, with the distance and all – it is unlikely that I will be back.
