Paradize Poolside Restaurant (Pork Free) @ Off Jalan Sultan Ismail – One of my favorites in the area :)

Believe it or not, this hotel + restaurant has been around for decades, it certainly does not look it, lol. Rather than one being located within the other, like how a usual hotel and its restaurant operates, the arrangement here is different. There is the hotel , which is basically  a well spread out 2,3 storey building with plenty of parking surrounding it. As soon as you park, head on over to the poolside restaurant which is located next to the hotel –  just need go down the stairway and you would immediately see it. You do not have to be a guest at the hotel to be able to eat here, nope. Literally anyone and everyone are welcomed. Since the area is surrounded by plenty of  tourist attractions and offices, do expect  tourists and loads of office folks to visit.

I guess with them having been around for decades, they would have steadily built a loyal customer base. You wont see much of them making much rounds on social media actively, nope. Those who know of them, knows of them and those who do not, don’t.

Back in the day when I used to hang out till wee hours of the morning, 2 – 3 am, This was my go to restaurant. Why? Not only is their food delicious, they are opened till 5 am yawww ! I used to order my Indonesian Fried Rice, which is utterly delicious and gobble it all up before heading back home. Miss those days, lol.

The restaurant is pleasant and special. It is right smack in the city, in the midst of all the hustle and bustle you’d come to expect with this side of Bukit Bintang – office buildings everywhere, hotels, office folks, tourists and in the middle of it all – you’d have this cozy, hidden gem of sorts. When you do get around to paying this place a visit, sit at the table/benches right night to the pool, please? Trust me – you would like it. A perfect view of greens and water, with the calming sounds of nature via the mini fountain in the pool. It sure does offer a comforting escape from every busy and hectic life you would experience as soon as you leave the restaurant.

This restaurant is PORK FREE. So, you would see all walks of life visiting – the old and the young, and all races – Chinese, Malays, Indians and etc, and not to forget – plenty of tourists drop by too….. and do I need to mention again that this eatery OPENS till 5 am !!! The food they serve is Asian Fusion, do expect a selection of rice and noodles, among other things.

Seafood Otak-otak with Rice,15.50 ringgit

If you are like me – as in I loveeeeeee otak-otak, the do give this a go. You would get the whole works here, not just fish, add in some prawns and squids into the mix – Damn! Yummmmmm! The gravy was thick and flavorful, packed with just the right amount of spice. It was an absolute delight. This was my first time seeing papadum accompanying otak-otak, lol but but as soon as you mix it all up, it was delicious. Will certainly order this again.

Pad Thai, 15.50

The noddles came wrapped up in a thin layer of egg. As soon as you break into it, you would notice a ‘molded into shape’ lump of noodles, lol. Sometimes I like my noodles dry and sometimes a little gooey and stick. The ones I got here was the latter , as a pad thai should be and I liked it. The taste and feel is as expected. Add in the chili and the shredded peanuts and there would be plenty of crunch and spice in addition to the flavoring from the noodles. Very nice indeed.

Would I head here again?

Most definitely. Had an awesome time here, as I always do. Definitely worth heading back to.
