Today we decided to head to Eight Gourmets Gala (EGG) at The Pinnacle. It has been around for years and those of you who frequent the Sunway Pyramid area (the outer part) would most probably have heard of this eatery and may have even visited it a number of times.
It is conveniently located at The Pinnacle – Annexe. Parking was easy. Just park at The Pinnacle. We paid 3 ringgit for 2 hours, which was a good deal, nothing too pricey. Then, just walk out towards the building right next to it, at the lobby is EGG. Barely a few minutes walk.
The eatery occupies a large space, easily being able to accommodate a large group. With Ed Sheeran playing in the background and the easy – going atmosphere, it is no wonder plenty of office folks made this their go – to spot for lunch. Do expect the usual that accompanies a packed eatery – plenty of chatters and laughter.
As you guys can see, they offer a variety of dishes – pasta, burger, pizza, noodles, crabs, clamps, lobsters and etc. Plenty of choices, a little something for everyone. Ooooo and they also offer wine and beer π
(Set Lunch) Fried Mee Hoon with Clamps, Black Coffee & Pumpkin Soup, 21 ringgit
and
(Set Lunch) Hakka Anchovies Fried Rice with Scallops,Β Ice Lemon Tea & Mushroom Soup, 21 ringgitΒ
and
Sizzling Chocolate Brownie with Hazelnut Ice Cream, 22 ringgit

I preferred the mushroom soup to the pumpkin soup.Β The pumpkin soup was just a pile of gooey orange thicken soup? The mushroom soup however had plenty bits of mushrooms in it, chewy bits that complemented the flavorful soup.Β
The Hakka Anchovies with Scallops is one of those simple, Chinese style fried rice that would be perfect if you’d want something simple and not too fancy. I think it would have made a whole lot of difference if they included the larger version of anchovies as opposed to the real tiny ones. Yea, it is the more expensive one between the two, but it does not have the same ‘kick’ you would get with the larger anchovies. I barely felt much crunch.Β The scallops were a great addition, loved it. A pretty decent fried rice.
My fried is a fan of clamps and that is why he opted for the Fried Mee Hoon with Clamps. As you can see from the image above – it sure does come filled with loads of clamps. I do not think I’ve seen a fried mee hoon with this many clamps. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of clamps, my friend though, enjoyed it. The mee hoon on its own was tasty. The usual fried mee hoon, with fried egg and bean sprout.Β
The Sizzling Chocolate Brownie with Hazelnut Ice Cream was yummy. As soon as it arrived, I was like ‘Woaaaaa’, because it literally arrived sizzling. The caramel sauce was bubbling away, fresh off the stove. The combination of the hot caramel sauce + warm brownie + the coolness from the ice cream was da bomb. It was a perfect end to our lunch here.Β
Would I head here again?
If I am in the area, I just might.
