Green Lane Noodles @ Cheras – Prawn & Curry Mee da bomb!

I have been craving for some good Penang food lately. My constant browsing on Google kept leading me back to Green Lane Noodles. Just the name itself was an attractive factor to me. Green Lane, Georgetown yawwwww!! The positive reviews were a deciding factor too and so, I made my way here. ย I did the usual – get on Waze and follow its directions here. However, Waze indicated that there were 2 branches and both were located in Cheras. One was in Taman Taynton View, 8 km away and the other was in Taman Desa Bukit Cahaya, 11 km away. I voted for the nearest option, of course…. all the while wondering why they would open 2 branches about 2 km from one another. Hmmmm?

I got my answer when I arrived. Apparently, the first branch was in Taman Desa Bukit Cahaya. That has been operating for the past 3 years. It has been doing well, frequently visited by customers and they decided to open another branch nearby 6 months ago. That is right, the branch I visited is the new outlet, just half a year old.

The restaurant is simple, kopitiam – like. Nothing too fancy, which is how I like it when I eat my Prawn Mee, yummm. Nothing beats having good noodles with natural air blowing in your face while you sweat a bucket, lol. Know what I mean?

Prawn Mee

Ooo them noodle were da bomb! I know some of you guys like the gravy a lil watery but not me. I like them thicker, with more flavors and spice. Both the noodles were delicious. The Penang White Curry Mee was milky and spicy. It came in a generoud portion. Notice the pork blood cubes? I got 8-10 of those in one serving and loads of tauhu, mini prawns, fishcakes and taugeh. The Prawn Mee – I liked very much. The broth was reddish, orangey which itself was able to indicate the right amount/level of spiciness and upon tasting it – yup, it was just the right amount with that much needed sweetness that usually accompanies good prawn mee. It came with dried shrimp, taugeh and egg. I loved it.

Would I head here again?

Yessss, I totally would. I had a good experience here. Food wad awesome and the people were friendly.
