Muruku Fried Chicken New 2018 Petaling Jaya Pork Salted Egg Bacon Pasta

Tipsy Boar @ Section 17, Pj – oooo Yummm! Burp! :D

We initially met at Strangers at 47 for a breakfast meeting. Something light and not too filling, those yummy crepes at Strangers fit the bill. We ate, discuss and exchanged ideas and by the time we were done – it was lunch. Once we parted ways, a few of us decided to give Tipsy Boar a try. This eatery is located a few doors away from Jeq in the House and Omulab.

It was a pretty simple restaurant. Nothing too fancy but a nice place to chill. If you are on your own, with just a laptop or a book for company, this eatery would be a good place to chill, enjoy your own company, have good food and go about your day. If you are with company, the simple, no frills nature of this eatery is relaxing.

Salted Egg Bacon Pasta, 28 ringgit

This was da bomb! Sooooooooo delicious. It had a thick, creamy texture. If you are a fan of salted egg, then this dish would totally do it for you. Each mouth was decadent, with the salted egg taste prevailing. There was generous amounts of bacon bits scattered all over + salted egg pieces + curry leaves + cream. Oooo man, do give this a try guys. The only thing that ticked me off was the fact that I had to share this dish with my friend when I would rather have had the whole plate to myself, hhmph! I would totally reorder this dish again, totally.

Okay, so in the Menu – it said that this dish comes with spiced buttermilk + crispy muruku crust + chilli oil. I actually thought there would be muruku bits scattered all over but noooo, the chicken pieces were actually fried in muruku batter. Never in a 100 years would it even occur to me the possibilities of doing so. I mean, of course it is possible but come on, who would have thought to dip them chicken in muruku batter? Certainly not me. It was delicious. The outer layer of the chicken was crunchy and spicy – the taste of muruku very obvious and then there is the moist, chewy and warm taste of the chicken itself. Yummmm. Eating it by itself was good enoug, add in the ‘yogurt-ty’ flavor of the buttermilk. Yummmmmm x2 πŸ˜€ Loved it.

Would I head here again?

Most definitely. Food was delicious. I am tottaly coming back for more.
