Butter Pork Belly Rice Dry Curry Chicken Noodle Puchong Rice Setiawalk

Reminisce @ Setiawalk, Puchong – Yummy!

This was an unplanned visit. The day started of with with the 3 of us agreeing to have lunch at one eatery, then some hours later, along came another friend who suggested Reminisce and the yummy food they offer, so here we were.

Notice how full the eatery was? Yea, it was fullhouse for lunch. Literally everyone that walks out, more head in. Empty tables did not last long, often occupied within minutes. We had to wait for 5 minutes or so before being seated. The eatery itself was cozy and inviting. It had old school decors on display- biscuits, munchies from back in the day, and old school games that bring you back to your school days. If you want some peace and quiet, especially for lunch – Reminisce will not be it. There was constant chatter, conversations, laughter and since seatings are close together, it is unlikely that you can avoid it. There are plenty of eateries around that can offer you some quiet if that is what you need but not this eatery. I enjoyed it though, it was fun and very lively.

** If you guys visit during lunch time, like we did, then they would most probably give you their Lunch Special Menu. At any other time besides lunch time, then their Normal Menu applies.

Butter Pork Belly with Steamed Rice

The Dry Curry Noodles arrived first and guys – it was sooooo yummy! I’ve tried several dry curry noodles before, the ones that usually includes kuay teow, mee hoo or wan tan mee but I have never tasted dried curry with maggi yawww!! Okla, my friend was pretty sure that it was wan tan mee but it tasted like maggi to me. So, I am just gonna go with my take on it, lol. The dish came with 4 chunky, meaty pieces of chicken and a generous amount of chicken curry, the kind you would find at shops serving Chap fun? mixed rice? Yummmm! Mix it all up and what you’d get is real tasty. I loved it. I slurped it all up within a minute.

This was my first time trying Butter Pork Belly. Every time I give this sort of dish a try, it would always be with a chicken – as in Butter Chicken. So yea, was looking forward to giving this a try. After giving it a try though , well from here onward, I shall expand my selection to include pork belly and not just limit it to chicken. It was tasty! The butter gravy had the usual consistency and taste – sweetish and milky. The obvious difference here was the pork belly –  it was real chewy. Thank got it was not as chewy as it can be with mutton. When it is cooked in a certain way – you can chew and chew and chew mutton, yet it never disintegrates? Yea, this was nowhere near there, thank god 🙂 It was awesome. The dish as a whole was yummy. I do not know why there was a sambal egg on the plate, it was kindda the’ lost’ item on the plate but who cares, the more things to munch on, the better.  I would give this dish  try again.

Will I head here again?

Yes, I certainly will. Food was good, the atmosphere was cheerful and lively. Worth returning.
