New 2018 Prawn Mee

Prawn Noodle King @ Damansara Uptown, PJ – It does taste as good :)

Did you guys know that there is a Prawn Noodle King branch here, in Damansara Uptown? I certainly did not. Sometime back, I did have a taste of their prawn mee when I visited their OUG branch and I remember liking it.  So naturally, when I saw them as I was driving by – I wanted to give them another go.

Where in Uptown is this eatery located? Right next to the Indian restaurant – Curry Leaf. Know where that is, right? Within the row of shops facing the entrance of Starling Mall.

Where to park? Yes, I know this is a constant issue/worry when it comes to Damansara Uptown. I parked in Starling Mall itself and then walked out, crossed the road and I was in front of this eatery within minutes. No sweat.

There was this distinct aroma of spice and chilli that hit me immediate when I was at their OUG branch and that same aroma hits you here too as soon as you enter and walk through their front door. That aroma itself will get your tongues wagging.

Prawn Mee with Roast Pork, 14.90 ringgit

I decided to go for their pork roast version this time , which basically was ‘The Original’ with pieces of roasted pork. I liked the broth. Having it on its own was nice but I love adding in their chilli paste and giving it a good mix – you’d get red broth packed with flavor. I opted for Mee Hoon  Mee as my noodle of choice, simply because I liked a mix of thin and thick noodles when I am having it with a soupy, spicy broth + about 6,7 pieces of roasted pork + a few thin slices of chicken meat. It was yummy. It may not be the best, as I know we all have individual preferences when it came to prawn mee – redder broth? thicker broth? certain flavoring to the whole dish? whether the broth was made with prawns in it for that extra flavor? and etc but the prawn mee here was pretty good. I’d give it another go especially since I visit Uptown regularly these days.

Would I head here again?

Yes, I certainly would be back 🙂
