Briyani Butter Chicken Garlic Cheese Naan Indian Naan New 2018 North Indian Palak Paneer

Chapathi Recipes @ Taman Connaught, Cheras – Yes, I agree. Their naan is da bomb!

I’ve been hearing plenty of positive reviews about this eatery and their awesome naans. I tell myself that I am going to head here next, all the time but with work and everything else going on – this was put on a back burner, forgotten until I see another review. You know how it goes, right?Β

I have this overzealous friend though. One who comes across something he likes, tells you about it and until you yourself head to that eatery to give it a try – you’d be hearing about it on repeat every other time you see him. It is repeated too many times that it is unlikely you’d forget. Yea, so here I was. We all have that friend.Β  Lol.

Okay, I headed to Chapathi Recipes yesterday night, Saturday. I’ve passed this area plenty of times on a weekday and heading here for lunch then would not work for me, unless if I am living within the area – which I dont. This eatery is located within the row of shops right outside UCSI. On a weekday, parking here is super difficult because of the folks that work here as well as students from the university and from I’ve heard, lunch on a weekday, the restaurant is almost always packed. Oh well, there is always Grab car and public transport but either way, you best call ahead and reserve a seat for yourself. If you intend to simply try your luck, more often than not, you might end up waiting, so make sure you have some time to spare. If you want less hassle, perhaps you’d fare better at night πŸ™‚

They also seem to do well on weekends. Good thing about weekend is, there are parking spots available πŸ™‚ Yay! but yea, as soon as a table empties, it is filled/occupied within the minute. No joke, people kept coming.Β  Despite the full house, customer service was good, food arrived rather quickly and they got the orders right. Usually, something would go wrong when the restaurant is full as Chapathi Recipe was but they all seemed perfectly capable of handling the overfow of customers, everyting went as it should.

Every table had one thing in common, every one of them had at least 1 basket of naan. Every single table. That sure is an indication about how tasty those naans are.

The naan….. ooo man, very very tasty. I totally agree with other reviews, a whole lot of them were raving about the naan and I agree – the naans here are the bomb!.

Oooo look at that, they literally stuff every side of the naan with with garlic and cheese. I do not think I’ve come across many eateries that are as generous with their naan fillings/toppings as Chapathi Recipes. Love it! Another thing I liked is the bread itself, the texture was not thick and hard-ish. Here, its slightly thinner and soft, tender. I loved it, It was delicious. I am definitely coming back for more. Yes!

The Butter Chicken and Palak Paneer was equally as delicious. The gravies were awesome, a perfect combination with the naan. They both had generous filling. Both dishes were the ‘Small’ option and I was surprised as to how much filling it came with. If you eat in eateries like Tasty Chapati, they would give you even lesser filling at a higher price. Not here though. Here, it is decently priced.Β  The chicken came in various sizes and pieces – big, small, long, short. You name it and it is there. The Palak Paneer, which basically consisted of spinach gravy with plenty of cheese cubesΒ  was tasty. I wouldnt change a thing.

The Hydrabadi Chicken Briyani was okay. I am fussy when it comes to briyani and the one here, I most probably would give it a miss. There was something missing. Hmmmmm. It did come with 4,5 medium chicken pieces – soft and tender but yea, this dish is not for me, I guess.Β

Would I head back here?

I certainly will be back. The delicious naan is worth the trip πŸ™‚
