I’ve been hearing a lot about the Nasi Lemak Pasta served here – how delicious it is and etc. Usually, it would die down after a while but to my surprise, the ravings continue. So, since I had some business to take care of in Ampang, I decided to pay this cafe a visit.
I’d say this is a hidden cafe. It is attached to a sport complex – Komplex Destar Arena. When I was right outside the complex, for a minute there I actually thought I was at the wrong place. It totally is not the kind of place you’d see a cafe popping up.
It is your typical sports complex.
— and on the side, you’d see Pour.
This would be a good eatery to hang out at if you fancy some alone time. Kindda sucks that they are located all the way in Ampang, a good 30 minutes away from me but yea, I’d drop by again, perhaps during weekends. I like how cozy and relaxing it felt sitting there. I spent a good 2 hours, simply eating and chatting. You’d forget about whatever that is happening out the cafe door – work, personal issue, money problems and etc for a while. You cant see a busy road, there is not much indication that time is passing, it certainly is easy to simply let loose here. Oooo and parking was soooo easy. Plenty available and for free.

Yuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Yup, that sums it up 🙂
The Nasi Lemak Pasta is out of this world. Really good. Now that I know what all the hype is about – I’d say I totally agree. I dont know how to explain it except that it ticked all the boxes that made this a very good dish. When the dish first arrived at my table, I was like “Ohh noo, the pasta looked extra ‘milky’, it would most probably distort the taste of the Nasi Lemak but nope, it was simple and buttery with no additional creamy taste. When you have it with the sambal and egg and peanuts – ooooo da’ bomb! This is definitely a MUST TRY.
I need to take a minute to mention their excellent customer service. We ordered the fish burger simply because it is not the usual dish you’d come across in cafes but what we got instead was the beef burger. When we checked our receipt – it actually said beef burger. Somewhere between ordering and paying, the fish burger somehow became beef burger. It was hard to say whose error was it but the folks at Pour was very accommodating. They willingly offered to change the dish, free of charge and on top of that, they apologized. They were very friendly, attentive. This is another reason why I’d return here. When you visit an eatery – you’d like to feel appreciated and welcomed and I sure felt that and more here.
Anyways, the fish burger too was delicious. No surprise there, lol. The charcoal bun was all warm and soft, I liked how they added some garlic butter – it certainly made a difference, made it somewhat unique. Then, there was the lemon-ish sauce, just to provide some ‘kick’ and the fish fillet. Yummy!
Callebaut Chocolate, 12 ringgit
To end my rather delightful journey here, I decided to order this particular cake. I wanted something Chocolate-ty but not too sweet and this was suggested to me mainly because it was of the dark chocolate variety. The good thing about this specific cake was that the usual bitter taste that usually accompanied this sort of chocolate was absent. In place was a not too sweet, creamy dark chocolate dessert that melts in your mouth. It was decadent and exactly what I needed.
Would I head back here?
Oooo yes, most definitely. Not only is the food good, the customer service was awesome and as I mentioned earlier, it is a good place for some alone time.
