Chocolate Lava Cake desserts New 2018 Pork Free Sweet Potato Rosti

Catcher in the Rye @ Section 17, PJ – Yumm!

I loveeee Section 17, not the whole bit, just the part surrounding Happy Mansion. Well, Happy Mansion itself have a variety to offer in terms of food and then add in the foodie square next to it, where cafes like Tujoh is located, oooo yess, soo many choices. The neighborhood feel and chillex atmosphere makes it even better. Need I say more ?

I initially planned on heading to Tujoh –ย ย Tujoh @ Sek. 17, PJ โ€“ A cozy lil cafe I fancyย  but that did not happen. Why? Firstly, due to the fact that they were full-house for lunch, packed. Since I was very, very hungry, I was not willing to wait for a table. Secondly, as I was driving around the block, I got distracted. Guess what I saw – a new cafe, yawwww. Catcher in the Rye, it is named. It was a done deal, I knew lunch was going to be here.

…. and ooh, I read online that this was the same team behind Wild Sheep Chase –ย Wild Sheep Chase @ Taman Desa โ€“ Very Pleasant Dessert Cafe . Yess, I could not wait to give the dessert here a try, pretty sure it would be just as good as the ones I’ve tasted at that cafe.

The cafe was all cozy and nice. Welcoming too. Customer service was good, they were fast and attentive.ย

If you notice – their Menu is small, with limited items. Totally understandable, considering the fact that they are new, which also explains why they are only opened on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays, for now. In time, they would begin operating most days in a week.

Food was good. As soon as I knew Rosti was offered here, I decided to give it a go. How often do you see this particular dish served in a cafe and that too with an Asian twist to it – the kailan ? Not often, right? It tasted as yummy as it looked. Between the crispy chicken karaage + baby kailan + guacamole + sweet potato rosti, I was happily satisfied. The combination of items on the plate, the mix of flavors made for a yummy dish. It definitely was a fulfilling lunch.

The Chocolate Lava Cake was yummy. The cake itself was mainly dark chocolate, including the melted bit on the inside. Having it on its own is nice if you fancy something chocolaty minus the sweet part. Me however, love my chocolate all gooey and sweet. This is where the vanilla ice cream played a major role.ย  The sweet + creaminess of the ice cream + the slightly bitter dark chocolate taste – real nice. The burst of flavors, the texture. I enjoyed it.

Would I head back here?

I will give it a few months or so before I pay them a visit. Hopefully by then, they would operate daily and have a more extensive menu. Hmmm, perhaps for the desserts, I’d return a lil earlier. Yea, them desserts are yummy, worth returning soonerย  lah.
