The eatery sounds familiar, ey? Yup, if you are a regular at Gardens, you would have came across them on your way to the second floor elevator. I’ve passed by it numerous times while I crossover to Mid Valley but I never got around to giving it a try. Why?? I wonder but …
Happy to say I’ve given Delectables by Su a try, finally – a different outlet though. I did not know of the existence of this one. Did you? Cant say I’ve heard of Glasshouse either. No matter because I had an awesome time here.
So, long story short – been having a rough couple for weeks, was emotionally and physically drained. Desperately needed something refreshing, new besides the usual cafe scene. My dear friend, who knew of my predicament, suggested this eatery. Apparently they have an array of desserts – which I love and is simply a nice place to ‘lepak’ at, something new. Exactly what I needed.

Basically, Delectables is located in Glasshouse. Glasshouse is an event space. It is a large space that is maintained wonderfully. They accommodate all sorts of events – weddings, shows, AGM, to name a few. At the time of my visit, there was a test run going on, a company was prepping for their Annual General Meeting and guess who walked in halfway through for her sound check?? Sheila Majid yawwww.

I was seriously fangirling there, for a moment. Hearing her singing ‘Sinaran’ and “Antara Anyer and Jakarta” … oooo them sweet memories. Of course she did not sing the whole song, just parts of it but still, it’s something, something by the lady herself. Yessss π
Anyways, Delectables is located on the second floor. You can take the lift up if you want to head straight to the eatery or you can opt to use the stair, this allows you plenty of opportunity to roam around. The first thing that hits you is the sweet, buttery aroma of popcorn. No joke. It hits you strong and it lingers till you reach the eatery. By the time you reach the eatery, you are salivating for that popcorn and you most probably will buy it. So was the case with me. I just had to.

Yup, that right there is the culprit and it cost me 9 ringgit. How can you resist ? From a distance, the aroma itself gets your tongue wagging and then, as soon as you step into Delectables, the popcorn machine greets you at the entrance. I simply could not say no. Considering you’d get a large pack filled with delicious caramelized popcorn, I’d say the 9 ringgit was worth it.

The eatery looked nice with a rather whimsical feel to it. As mentioned above, I was a emotionally and physically drained and one of the reasons my friend suggested this particular eatery was simple because of how it looks and the overall feel to it, hoping it would cheer me up. Did it ? Yes, it definitely did. How can I not π Depending on which side of the cafe you are sitting at, you’d also get an eye full of greens, nature. For some, that might work wonders on your mood and feelings, it certainly did for me.

Okay, moving on ….

In terms of what they offer – food wise, its not just desserts here. They offer full meals too. Prior to my visit, I had a hearty lunch elsewhere, hence why I opted for the desserts.

Lychee Cupcake, 10 ringgit

The cupcake was ummmm rather unusual in flavor, it certainly took some getting use to. Normally, I would have gone for their chocolate, peanut butter or even their coffee cupcake but I was told that this particular flavor was their popular one. Would I order it again though? Not this particular one. The texture and all was awesome but for me – lychee and cupcake, no way. It is their popular cupcake but I do not take a fancy to it. I do however look forward to giving their peanut butter and chocolate version a try.
For some, 10 ringgit for a cupcake sounds a tad high, I did share similar thoughts when it arrived at my table and after tasting it, considering I did not take a liking to their popular choice. Instead, I would have use that 10 ringgit to get my hands on their Creme Brulee – perhaps I will do that during my next visit.
Would I head here again?
Yes, I would.Β I love the whole feel of the place and I look forward to giving their other desserts, chicken pie, nasi lemak. Yummm.
