Apparently, this bar serves the best fish and chips in town. At least, that is what I’ve been told time and time again. I never really got around to giving it a try though because it is in Changkat. Whenever I think of Changkat – I think of clubs and bars, night scene. The last I was here at noon, I recall almost all the establishments being closed, hence why lunch here is a rarity but I was told that I needed to try the fish and chips here and that too for lunch. So, a trip here at noon was necessary. Was it worth it though? Yessssssssss!!!
Parking would be very easy because everything else is mostly closed, which was true enough. I ended up parking directly outside this bar, by the roadside, for free. (Ā TheĀ barĀ isĀ locatedĀ directlyĀ oppositeĀ Zion night club)

Barramundi Fish & Chips, 44 ringgit & Eggs Benedict, 28 ringgit

The fish and chips sure was good, finger lickin good. It was fresh, juicy, crunchy … yumm! I liked the fact that the batter did not separate from the fish when it was cut into? A lot of eateries serve crispy fish and chips but once you cut into it, the crispy outer layer falls off, which tends to get annoying after a while. You would already be dealing with the fact that the plate is all greasy and slippery and then, rather than enjoying the dish, you would have to busy yourself trying to make sure with every fork full of fish, you are also able to scoop a little bit of that crispy outer layer. Get what I mean? It does tend to get frustrating. Good thing is does not happen here though. It was perfect here. I’d say that they sure did live up to their name, literally the best fish and chips I’ve tasted in a while. I’ve got to thank my friend for insisting that I have lunch here. “Best fish and chips in town”, he said and I do agree.
The Eggs Benedict was awesome too. Simply cutting into it, seeing the yolk oozing out, that itself held a certain amount of satisfaction. The eggs were served on an english muffin, which upon taking the first bite, was a tad weird. Why? What I should have done was let the yolk seep in, making the muffin all soft and gooey. Nope, I simply could not wait that long and decided to get right to it as soon as it arrived on my table. So folks, wait a few seconds, let the egg do its magic and then dive in because the wait sure is worth it. Yummmmm! It was delicious.Ā LovedĀ it.
Would I head back here?
I would, food was great. Not as often as I would like though. The distance and the $$$ spent, yeaa perhaps something along the lines of ‘once in a blue moon.’
