Burgers Frankfurters Pork Free

Wayback Burger @ Wisma Lim Foo Yong – Affordable burgers (Pork Free)

Okay, why affordable? Well, because I paid 13.99 ringgit for a set meal that consisted of a burger, fries and a drink. It is the same amount I’d pay when I decide to indulge in some KFC/McDonalds via the drive through. Sure, all the 3 restaurant chains mentioned originated from the US but if I were to choose between Wayback Burger and KFC/McDonalds and etc – I wouldn’t mind paying frequent visits to the former rather than the latter.

** I know that its KL city centre and parking is a big worry but Wisma Lim Foo Yong has plenty of parking space available for visitor and for the entire duration I was there, only had to pay 3 ringgit.

** Do bare in mind that the pictures in their Menu are simply for advertising purposes. What you see on the screen may give you the impression that you’d be getting an XL sized burger when in reality, what you’d get is an L size – get what I mean? This sort of things happens, I suppose. I’d say that the burger size is similar to the Zinger burger from KFC, perhaps a tad bigger.

Buffalo Chicken, 13.99 ringgit

This dish turned out better than I expected. Firstly, I kindda thought with the $$$ it cost me, the burger and fries will be sized down but that was not the case here. It was in its original size, a regular sized burger with a generous portion of chips. Secondly, the burger itself was delicious, glad I opted for Buffalo Chicken. I loved the big chunk of crispy, crunchy chicken meat, it was yummy. It seemed like the chicken crust had some flavors added to it, which complimented the burger as a whole. The fries were crispy and thankfully, not laden in oil. I remember ordering the set meal from KFC 2 days ago and was surprised to see that I was literally given about 9 pieces of badly made/shaped fries. Seriously? The fries here more than made up for that blunder. I liked the fact that it was lightly fried, just the surface, the kind that hasnt been in the cooking oil for too long. Yup, I enjoyed myself with this one.

Frankfurter, 11.99 ringgit

Yup, this was another set – a frankfurter + fries + drink and all for 11.99 ringgit. It sure was affordably priced considering how stuffed and big the frankfurter was. It isnt the kind that you would be able to consume in one go, simply by having to stretch your mouth a bit to accomodate, nope. The one here, stretching wont do, you’d simply have to bite your way through it. The dish consisted of a chicken frank, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, chicken ham and Wayback sauce. The sauce, it was spiced up, black pepper-ish, you’d be able to taste it all the way through. The sausage + ham combo was pretty good + the spicy, flavorful sauce, made for a tasty dish.

Would I head back here?

Yes, as mentioned earlier, considering the similarities in prices – I’d pick Wayback over KFC. Oklah, I cant really give up on KFC, there is something about the greasiness, the crunchyness and the flavors that makes it kindda difficult to let go but perhaps more visits to Wayback. Food certainly tasted better here.
