If you love bread, specifically sourdough, you’d most probably have heard of Tommy Le Baker. After all, in almost every list relating to good bread, sourdough and bakery in KL, this bakery is a common mention. I, myself have been hearing good things about Tommy Le Baker for some time now and I finally got around to paying it a visit. Actually, nope – this is my second attempt here. My first attempt didn’t go as planned. Let’s just say I picked a wrong time to head over, it was crowded, as in all the tables were occupied and it was just my luck that I had a meeting 45 minutes later which meant that I did not have time to spare, to wait around.
This time however, I was prepared to wait, if necessary. Guess what though, just when I had plenty of time to spare, it so happen that there were plenty of tables available. Again, just my luck, lol. PARKINGΒ was easy, I simply parked by the road side. If all those are occupied, there also is an open carpark next door and just down the road.
*** There is NO WIFI here. So, if you intend to get some work done on your laptop or needing to browse the net on your phone – do take note. No wifi.
There are two entrances into the bakery – the front and the back.

Chicken Sandwich, 18.80 ringgit + Sourdough Whole Wheat Banana Slice, 4.50 ringgit
I was hungry and so, while waiting for my chicken sandwich to arrive, I decided to munch on this banana slice. This was good. I liked it. Not too sweet, not too dense from the banana. I liked it a whole lot that I decided to have another slice.
It is all about sourdough here – sourdough sandwiches, sourdough tartines, sourdough platter. After contemplating my options, I decided to go with something simple and not complicated, the plain ol’ chicken sandwich. It consisted of the sourdough breadΒ + chicken + cheese. The bread was warm and buttery on the inside, it was thick and condensed, with the prominent taste of sourdough evident with every bite. The cheese – mozzarella perhaps? with some generous pieces of chicken was da bomb. Simple yet delicious and filling.Β
