Here I was back at The Hub. I like the area, feel at ease there. No need to worry about jam and road congestion, overcrowded-ness and even parking. The Hub is located at the edge/entrance of SS 2, along the road that faces Section 17 where Kanna Curry House and Strangers at 47 are located. Yup, simply drive along that straight road and you’d see it next to the Chinese Temple.
The Hub is basically service residence with a retail section. The retail section is now being filled up rather rapidly with many eateries – Mei by Fat Spoon, Gooddam, The Ding’s, Pins & Putts, Wasabi and Kooky Cream. What do you fancy? Chinese? Japanese? Western? Desserts? If I’m not mistaken, a Tapas Bar will be opening soon? Still a work in progress but I guess Spanish food will soon be available too.
** Plenty of parking. No difficulty at all. There is a basement car park available at an hourly rate of 1 ringgit.
I’ve been wanting to give Kooky Cream a try for ages now, ever since my friend had a taste of their desserts, she has been talking about it nonstop – apparently their cakes are really nice. I’ve been around a number of times – had some meetings to attend here but it simply was never the right time to drop by. All my meetings are in the morning and these guys are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wednesdays and Thursdays – they only open from 2 pm onwards. So yea, it never was the right time, uggh. Fast forward a whole month and I finally got it right, lol. Finally dropped by and got a taste of their dessert offerings, one of it at least.
Peanut Banana Cake, 15 ringgit
Okay, truth be told, as soon as I saw ‘Peanut’, I ordered it. The ‘Banana cake’ part I only discovered after tasting it, lol. Anything with peanut butter in it, I drool. Peanut butter and banana cake though, who would have thought that it worked?? Certainly not me. Upon tasting it – I’ve discovered that this is da’ bomb! Check out those layers. You’d first get a generous portion of dense, moist banana cake. Then, a thick layer of peanut butter, followed by bits of bananas filled with thick, gooey chocolate spread and this layers are repeated to make up the second half.
Drool, that was what I did throughout. Drooooool!
Would I head back here?
I certainly would. I am looking forward to giving their Earl Grey Tea Cake a go next. I also liked the fact that parking here is real easy. Loved the area too. Lots to discover.
Address: A-G-02, The Hub SS 2, Jalan Harapan, Seksyen 19, Petaling Jaya.
