Ginger Soup Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang New 2019 Open Daily Pork Free Red Bean Soup Tong Sui Traditional Chinese desserts

Dessertisme @ Bukit Jalil – Affordable, tasty local delights :) (Pork Free)

I caught up with my friends in Sri Petaling for lunch. It was one of those catching up sessions that took ages to happen simply because it was such a rarity that all of us were at the same place, the same time. Hours passed and soon enough, it was dinnertime by the time we all said our goodbyes.Β

Since I was in the area, I decided to take a drive and see what’s new. After some random turns, I came across Pusat Perdagangan Bukit Jalil. It is a new retail hub? When I say new – its very new. Some parts of it is still under construction,, construction workers scattered around. The parts that are completed, is somewhat occupied here and there. It is all still sparkly clean and new.Β

Considering I was already in the area, I opted to drop by Dessertisme. I read about this eatery and the hot local desserts, tong sui they offer via online. I loveeee them hot red bean soup, peanut paste and etc. It is refreshing, not too heavy and simply yummy. So, here I was.

I must say, paying 19.90 ringgit for a main meal with drink and 2 bowls of hot dessert is pretty cheap in this day and age. Affordable indeed.

TheΒ  Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang was delicious. I especially loved the chicken rendang. The chicken was soft and chewy, coated with a a good dose of rendang sambal that is a tad spicy with plenty of flavor. This dish as a whole was delicious and filling.Β

Both the Tong Sui were refreshing. It has been a while since I’ve come across the traditional, Chinese style red bean soup. What is usually offered elsewhere is thicker and come with plenty of coconut milk/santan. While they do offer that option, they also serve up the traditional, more watery version that is not too sweet and without santan. There was an equal amount of soup to red bean ration, so you’d get a good dose of both. The Ginger Soup was slightly sweeter that what I am use to but the taste of Ginger was prevalent. It sure did help with my irritated throat. This soup comes with 3 glutinous balls – 2 filled with black sesame and 1 with peanut. Nice indeed.
