We initially were headed to Kumar’s in Oasis Ara Damansara but unbeknownst to us, that has closed down. Bummer. We weren’t really in the mood for anything else offered here and so, we went online to check out if there were any new openings nearby. After some browsing, we came upon a review on Underscore and off we went.
I must say, I’ve never really ventured into this part of Ara Damansara. Tucked in a relatively quiet row of shops, Underscore is perhaps one of the few cafes here. It is small, warm and cozy. Customer service was great, they were friendly and welcoming. Parking was no issue, plenty available.
** The drinks menu turned out blurry. We will get a better picture during out next visit.
Salted Egg Yolk Croissant, 9.50 ringgit + Salmon Scramble, 23 ringgit
9.50 ringgit may seem a lil too costly for a croissant but trust me, it is worth every penny. It was utterly delicious. The croissant itself was fluffy, crispy and buttery. The salted egg yolk filling was generous, as soon as you cut into it, it oozes out. On the top of the croissant, there was a good dose of chicken floss. I’d never imagine having salted egg yolk with chicken floss but it was an awesome combination, It was sooo good that it did cross my mind to get myself another one but spending almost 20 ringgit for 2 croissants was a lil too much in my books. I shall be contented with the one I had. Definitely gonna have another one during my next visit.
The Salmon Scramble was good. It consisted of rice + scramble eggs + seaweed + salmon cubes + fish egg + lettuce. It was wholesome and filling. I only wish the egg were not scrambled and instead be underdone? It would then be all moist and gooey, which in turn would make the rice all sticky and gooey. Well, I suppose its just me, It is how I usually like my rice bowl. Other than that, it was a good dish, perfect for lunch.
