The last time I visited Regal House was about 2,3 years ago? Back then, there used to be a car showroom here, I sometimes dropped by to feast my eyes on some Mercedes beauties. Being back here a few years later was exciting although I must say that the last thing I’d expected to pop up here was a cafe – color me surprised.
The cafe, it looked nice. It had a similar feel to Botanica + Co in Bangsar South and Wizards at Tribeca, perhaps a lil more fancier but the feel is the same, to me at least. Nicely done.
Parking is free and easy. Plenty of spots available around the block.
Menu
Based on where this eatery is located and the way If Only looks, I was pleasantly surprised when I took a look at the Menu. I seriously expected their dishes to cost more. Yet another surprise when I saw that it was all reasonably priced, within a similar price range to many other cafes out there.
Laksa Pesto Pasta, 28 ringgit

I specifically ordered the Laksa Pesto Pasta because I loveeeeee Pesto and as soon as I saw it on the Menu, I knew I had to give it a go. The downer here is that I could not taste the pesto at all, for real. What a bummer. If you are a fan of pesto like I am and/or if you are curious to see what a blend of pesto and laksa would taste like – you’d be a lil disappointed, just a lil. I decided to recheck the Menu and realized that perhaps I was misled? Although Laksa Pesto Pasta is the name of the dish, there was no mention of Pesto in the description. So, the question here is whether or not there is pesto in this dish. If there is, then it was certainly overwhelmed by the Laksa and if there isn’t, then perhaps the next time we visit and order, be sure to read the description.
Anyways, if you forget about the pesto and simply view this dish as ‘Laksa Pasta’ – it was yummy. I loved the fact that they used a flat noodle as the pasta of choice because it sure was able to contain & retain more of the rich flavors of Laksa. It was a dry dish but the noodles were a lil wet, which worked as a glue of sorts and held all the ingredients together. There were a generous portion of clams prawns and calamari. Despite the minor blunder with the pesto, this dish as a whole was delicious.
I look forward to giving the other dishes a go, when I visit next.
