Believe it or not, this was my 4th attempt visiting this restaurant. The first two times, it was closed for a private event and the third time, they were simply closed. Considering the restaurant was located in Uptown, where it is soo difficult to find a parking spot and is almost always busy and congested β¦ I usually do not plan ahead. In most cases, it would be me having to be in the area for a meeting and once that concludes, then I think about food only if I am hungry. An afterthought is what it normally was. This would mean that I rarely keep up with their status updates on social media resulting in me not knowing if they are close for the day. So kids – do check out their Facebook page before you visit.
Parking: Rebel Pasta is nestled within the row of shops that faces Starling Mall, so parking in the mall is most convenient and cheap too. All you have to do is park, walk out of the mall, cross the road and you are there. If you are hoping to get a parking spot by the road – good luck, pal. Especially during lunch time, you’d be waiting forever.Β
We arrived at Rebel Pasta after 1 pm, the lunch crowd were gone by then. So, besides having to share the space with a few other customers, we basically had the place to ourselves.Β If you loveeeeee pasta, you’d like this eatery. They mainly serve pasta here, pasta with uniquely creative names, lol and some desserts too.

Boom Duckalaka, 18.90 ringgit + Housemade Chocolate Cake, 11.90 ringgit
I did not have much time to contemplate on what I wanted to order because I needed to get work done and so, I went for their House Special – it has to be good, right?? It certainly was, the Boom Duckalaka is basically pasta with a local twist. The main star here is their Rendang Spiced Duck Ragu. It was flavorful and tasty, the unique distinctive rendang flavor was evident throughout the dish. If I could change one thing, it would be to replace the fettuccine with perhaps, angel hair?? This is simply a personal choice. They do accommodate and allow request for change but I forgot to mention it when I placed my order. Besides that, it was pretty good.
I decided to conclude my visit here by indulging in one of their desserts. The Housemade Chocolate Cake suited me just fine because I wasn’t in the mood for complicated, fancy looking desserts, the chocolate cake was as simple as it gets for me. I love the fact that it was not overly sweet. The ganache on the top was thick and slightly bitter-ish, underneath that layer was moist, dense and the sweetness was just right. Lovely.
