Blue Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah Iced Coffee Lunch Sets New 2020 Nyonya Curry Laksa Open Daily Pork Free Sour Plum

Roti & Kopi House @ Uptown, PJ – ooo my, yummy Nyonya Curry Laksa (Pork free)

Looky looky here… look what I found. A nice place to “lepak” at, one with good food and most importantly, I can park my car with ease yawwwww. If you guys have been regularly following our blog, you’d pick up on our distaste when it comes to parking in Uptown. Sure, we like hanging out in the area but man, it sure is a pain to get a parking spot here, especially during lunch time but worry not my friends,  getting to Roti & Kopi was a breeze.

Anyways, long story short, I discovered this eatery via social media (no surprise there, lol). A fellow blogger wrote about it and judging from the pictures – I anticipated that I’d be having a good time there. It seemed like the latest ‘happening’ spot in Uptown, I had to pay it a visit lah.

Parking: Roti & Kopi is located in an office tower, so you can park inside it. Yessssss!! 😊 Just be on the lookout for the ‘Uptown 5′  Tower, once you see that – head on in to park in the basement carpark. I parked for an hour and 30 minutes which cost me 3 ringgit. Anyways, if you are unsure or somehow missed the tower… just know that this eatery is located at lobby, as you pass/drive by, you’d be able to see it from the roadside. Alternatively, you could always park in Starling Mall, head out and walk around the corner till you come across the tower.

** Just to make it super easy for you guys, this eatery faces this particular row of shop – Black Whale, Klinik Medijaya, Yu Noodle Cuisine ….

From the outside, you would see this ….

As you can see from the images above, Roti & Kopi House occupies two floors. Especially during lunch time, do expect it to be bustling with activities, filled with people and conversations. If you are all about immersing yourself with the feel and vibe of the place, it would be best if you are seated on the ground floor. If you are in need of some privacy or simply a quieter setting, the top floor would be ideal.

The eatery is brightly lit due to the large glass panels that brings in the natural sunlight. A common worry with glass panels are that there is a tendency for the place to get heaty and warm but there is no need to worry here as their ventilation system is good. I like the vibe here, the ambiance. Even if you are in a shitty mood, the bustling atmosphere will kindda influence you to join in, get hyped up.

I’ve heard talks about the Nyonya Laksa here, apparently it is really good and if you are late, it is highly likely that you’d miss it as it will be sold out. So, because of this, I made sure I was there by noon and since I loveeeeeee laksa/curry mee, you can bet I ordered it. Heck yea.

It was ‘sedaaaaaaapppppp’. For reals, yawwwww. I ain’t kidding. The gravy was thick and tasty, flavorful that I slurped up every drop, fattening nonetheless.  They offer 3 choices for noodles here, I opted for the yellow mee. I usually go for the mee hoon + kuey teow combo but with the thick gravy, the yellow mee was the best. Besides that, the dish also comes with fuchuk, tauhu, green beans, fish cakes, shredded chicken. Delicious.

The Blue Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah was visually pleasing but yea, that is about it. If you are craving nasi lemak, this dish will satisfy you. The blue rice is basically the usual nasi lemak rice with blue coloring. It was something different, I suppose – look wise. I was kind of let down with the ‘ayam berempah’. Well, this was your regular ol’ fried chicken minus the ‘rempah’. It was missing. If this was just Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng, then this dish was pretty good but when Ayam Goreng Berempah is mentioned specifically, the chicken has to be ‘berempah’, right?? Where is the rempah, man???

The Iced Kopi was good. It had that ol’ school, kopitiam taste. It was thick, mildly bitter with perfect amount of sweetness. The Iced Sour Plum was refreshing. It had a slight tangy, saltiness to it and a little sweetness. A good drink to turn down the heat.
