It has been 2 years since I’ve last visited Milligram. Decided to drop by today because I was in the area for a quick catch up with a friend. It pretty much felt like it did the first time I visited. Good food, good service and good ambiance. The only difference was the crowd. All my previous visits included a packed, crowded cafe. This time however, we had the place all to ourselves – something that is a rarity when it comes to this cafe, one both of us enjoyed. While they were still doing take aways, it was only very recently that they were open for dine in after a hiatus due to the MCO.

It has been almost 3 months since I’ve last indulged in some waffles and having a taste of it now was simply divine. This dish is basically a case of what you order is exactly you get. If you wanted a dish with waffle, egg and fried chicken on it – you’d get it with this dish, nothing more and nothing less. If you are expecting fancy flavors, an equilibrium between sweet and savory, you most probably wouldn’t be wowed by this dish. Simple is what it was and one I enjoyed. You’d get half a waffle on the bottom with an egg topped with 2 large chunky pieces of fried boneless chicken. The ingredient that tied it all together was actually the mayonnaise that came on the side. The crispy juicy fried chicken with the dense waffle,egg and a dash of sweet, creamy mayo was a yummy mix. Burp.

The Bac and Cheese is basically mac & cheese with strips of bacon and a side of an egg on toast. It is one of those dishes I’d characterize as comfort food. It was my go to meal during my teenage years, hassle free. I have not eaten this particular dish for ages, my cravings stopped as soon as I completed school. So, when I came across it this time, decided to get a taste just for old time sake. It tasted as it should, the bacon strips was nice addition.
