Ayam Kicap Ayam Madu Famous Halal Nasi Kandar Open Daily

Sithique Nasi Kandar @ Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman – Awesome Nasi Kandar (Halal)

I loveeeeee Nasi Kandar but sadly, I can’t indulge in it as much as I would like to. Why? Well, weight management. There were lots of success stories online on people loosing weight during the MCO period … well, I went the opposite direction and put on weight instead. Uggh! So, any form of rice dishes now is a rarity to me now, at least for the next few months.

Anyways, since it has been months since I last had Nasi Kandar, I decided to head on over to Sithique. When it comes to this particular dish, whether it is delicious or good is dependent on personal preference. What may be excellent to me, may simply be okay or mediocre to you. Similarly, my friends loveeeeee Kudu – Kudu bin Abdul @ Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Chow Kit – Tasty & affordable Nasi Kandar (Halal). While I agree that food there is good and consistent with the high ratings, reviews online … Sithique to me is even better.

So, it is no surprise that whenever I am in the area and in the mood for some Nasi Kandar, Sithique is where I head to.

Where is it located? Near Sogo, directly opposite Campbell Complex. If you guys know where the iconic Odeon Cinema used to be – great, as this eatery is located in the corner of that building. Parking was no issue at all. Right next to the restaurant is an open car park that charges you an hourly rate of 3 ringgit.

Depending on what time of the day you visit, there may be a que/waiting line. I dropped by during the start of lunch hour, so the que was just beginning …

Either way, regardless of how long the que is, it moves pretty fast. Soon enough, your turn would arrive. You’d first see this at the entrance.

So, the first thing you do is basically order your Nasi Kandar and pick your dishes. Once that is done, you enter and look for a table to sit at.

The image above may now show it but Sithique was filled with people. If you are hoping for some quiet, you wouldn’t be getting it here, lol. Continuous chatter and boisterous laughter is what you should expect here. I enjoyed it. Everyone was talking over each other, loudly, everyone was yapping away but no one cares. It was a nice change.

Menu

Most folks come here for some Nasi Kandar but if you are in the mood for anything else as this is ultimately a Mamak shop, they do offer you other usual items.

Food was yummy. To me, the difference between Sithique and Kudu lies in the taste of the gravies. While both serves up good Nasi Kandar, I find that the overall taste of the food here is more rich, flavorful and tasty. The gravies have more ummphh here – does that make sense?

For the rice dish, both my friend and I decided to go with the usual which would be white rice + chicken + cabbage. He loves okra and so he requested for an add on. The Chicken Madu was da bomb. Just the right amount of sweetness and spice. The Ayam Kicap was yummy too. The gravy was thick and flavorful.

Just like my other visits here, food was yummy and tasty this time too. Overall experience was awesome. I look forward to dropping by again in the near future.
