Some of you guys may have heard of Pun’s prior to this and may even be familiar with the brand – as I am. This is because before they opened doors here, they were operating in Seputeh and went by the name The Puntry by Pun’s Ice Cream. I used to enjoy heading there, simply for a scoop of ice cream at times. It was appealing location-wise as well, nearby but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I loved it and was sad to see that shop cease operations.

Imagine my surprise when I saw them popped up here. I just left Atria and decided to take a drive around the block to see if anything new popped up and I saw Pun’s. Pun’s sounded familiar and then I saw their logo and ahaaaaa, it is them, the guys from Seputeh. I got all excited and decided to have lunch there.

The Chiffle, 22 ringgit + OMG Burger, 24 ringgit + 2 scoops of ice cream, 12 ringgit

If you are in the mood for a fried chicken + waffle combo, then The Chiffle is just the dish for you. With a nice drizzle of honey, it had a nice mic of flavors and texture. Sweet, spicy, crispy, crunchy, tender .. The Chiffle had it. The chicken by itself was flavorful and juicy with plenty of crunch, good enough to eat on its own. Having it with a waffle and some honey was delightful. A yummy dish overall.

The main appeal with this burger is the filling – TRUFFLE fried chicken. The burger as a whole was tasty however, if you are a truffle lover, you may or may not be slightly let down as the distinct truffle taste is on the mild side here. It was not an issue for me as it didn’t matter. I was told that this was a popular option for burgers and as long as overall, the burger was delicious – that was all I care about. It was and I loved it.

Pun’s offers a choice of 6 ice cream flavors to choose from. The flavors, they rotate regularly, which means that you may not get the same flavors you did today if you return in a few days time. It changes. I decided to go with 2 scoops of ice cream this time – Gimme Smores and Vanilla. It was milky, decadent, with just the right amount of sweet. The Vanilla ice cream is self explanatory. If you fancy a traditional flavor, this would be a good option. The Gimme Smores is a nice blend between vanilla and chocolate, with some crumbly texture. It was really good, worth every $$$.
