Why surprisingly good? I am a meat eater and The Link is a vegetarian cafe. I dont know about you guys but to me, anything delicious should have meat in it, lol. I’ve only ever been a vegetarian if I had to, never because I wanted to and that too only for a day or two.
My visit to The Link was purely accidental and unplanned. It was initially raining lightly and there I was running from one row of shops to another, trying to get to my car. By the time I reached the row that houses The Link though, the rain got really heavy. It was either I stop and take a breather or get drenched by the time I reach my car … I decided to wait.
Lucky me that I had several options on where to ‘lepak’ at till rain stops. When I got to this particular cafe, they had a Menu displayed out at the front. I scrolled through it, mainly looking at images. Burgers, pasta, fried rice, desserts…. yea, it looked appetizing and I decided to hang out here. It was only later on, prior to placing my order, that I realized that The Link was vegetarian. π±π± At that point, I was already standing at the counter and it would be rather weird for me to walk out. So, I stayed and decided to take a chance by trying two recommended dishes.
Menu
Signature Burger, RM 18 + Curry Cream Pasta, RM 16
Food was surprisingly good. I was impressed. I did not miss or crave for meat throughout the hour and a half I was here. The burger was real good. I would not mind having it again. The handmade patty was thick, crispy and crunchy. Tastewise, flavorful and yummy. Topped with a generous portion of fried enoki mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage and a creamy butter sauce? Delicious it was. The dish came with a side of potato wedges.
This was their best selling pasta and I did not have to wonder why. It was really good, lightly creamy and flavorful. With the addition of mushrooms and broccoli, it provided a variety, texturewise. The whole dish was drizzled with yellow homemade curry sauce which I cant descibe. Minus the sprinkle of chili flakes, the sauce isnt spicy or hot. It was a tad sweet? I honestly cant describe it except that it was yummy. Yup, that summed it up.
