Wild Yeast Bakery @ Damansara Jaya, PJ - Sourdough, anyone? (Pork free)

I visited this month old bakery cafe recently and had a good lunch here indulging in one of my favorites – sourdough bread. Yup, it is all about sourdough bread here.

The eatery is located in Damansara Jaya. Near KDU, next to the petrol station, there is a row of shops, right? Yes, that is the one. It is located a few doors away from Sudo Brew. Parking was easy. Even at peak hours, you’d be able to find one rather quickly.

This was a recommended dish and it is suitable if you intend to share. I visited this eatery with my friend and rather than order individual dishes, we decided to share a dish and if we were still hungry after that, we’d order something else. So yea, this dish was suggested as a perfect choice to share between two people.

Yummmm! The sourdough here, you’d be able to taste the tangy sourness. I liked that. Texturewise, the outer layer was hard and crispy? The inner part was less harder, a tad more softer. The dish was an open sandwich/tartine which is perfect when having mozzarella. This sandwich comes in 6 slices, each topped with mozzarella and tomatoes, drizzled with balsamic vinegar, pepper several other items. It was tasty, overall. There was a mix of flavors … sour, bitter, the distinct flavor of the cheese. It was ‘sedap’ and i enjoyed it. Hard to describe specifically but you get what I mean, right? Lovely.

I ordered this dish simply because I felt like it, lol and also because the both of us still wanted something to munch on. We knew that we were too full to order tartine and so, we opted for something simple because sometimes, a simple dish is what you need. Basically with this, you’d get about 6,7 pieces of sliced sourdough cranberry bread wity a generous portion of butter and strawberry jam. The sourdough had its usual tangy sourness but the berries added some sweetness to it. I liked biting into it even without the butter and jam but with it though was real good. Yummm!
