I visited Tau Ke recently, for a late lunch meetup with some friends. We were basically driving around Taman Megah, looking for a quiet and condusive spot for some chit chat session and eventually came across this restaurant. It seemed quiet, new and a good spot to hang out at.

Menu

Assam Pedas Nyonya Rice (B), RM 18.95 + Salted Fish Pork Chop Fried Bihoon, RM 12.95 + Braised Pork Belly Pao, RM 4.95

This dish was tasty. As you can see, it includes a bowl of rice + a good portion of assam pedas fish with gravy + fish crackers + pickled vegetables + tomatoes + egg. The assam pedas gravy was well flavored. The fish portion was plenty however, do note that the fish is not steamed, instead its fried fillet, which was equally tasty.

This dish was okay. If you want a simple noodle dish, this could be it. To me, the bihoon tasted similar to the ones you’d find at a morning market? The ones with a large tray of meehoon, mee and nyonya kuih with and aunty or uncle handling the whole thing? It does not matter where but the dishes pretty much have similar taste across the board, right? Yea, this dish tasted like those noodles. A simple dish with pork chop and shredded eggs.

Yea, I wasn’t really feeling this one. Umm, it was somewhat dry and basic. If you are intending to be wow-ed, it wont happen with this dish. I’d skip the pao next time.
