GOClean @ PJ - Good stuff, me likey👌👌 (Halal)

I decided to try out one of the online food delivery services today, for lunch. It took a while to weigh my option as there were plenty available, literally anything you want. As this was more of a ‘on a whim’ kindda thing, my options were limited as most of them had a ‘cut-off time’ – order by 8 pm the day before for next day delivery, which I clearly didn’t meet.

With GOClean though, their cut-off time is by 9 am the same day . For instance, I ordered and paid at 8 am today in hopes of getting lunch delivered a few hours later. They offer times slots for delivery and I opted for the earliest, between 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. My food arrived by 11 am. So there you go, I placed an order at 8 am and received my food 3 hours later, safely delivered.

GOClean is a Halal certified healthy food delivery service that offers you lunch and/or dinner through individual meals, meal subcriptions – 5 days, 10 days, 20 days and etc, as well as catering. All produce used are fresh, all meals are cooked with olive oil and contains lesser than 550 calories. Their Menu changes daily and they cover a wide area for delivery at only RM 3 – Petaling Jaya, KL City Centre, Old Klang Road, Wangsa Maju, Mont Kiara, Damansara, Bangsar, Sri Kembangan, Shah Alam, Bandar Baru Klang and many more.

The packaging is clean and neat. As you can see, each package has the name of the dish clearly displayed on the top and is sealed with a cling wrap.

There are 5 choices to choose from daily, be it for lunch and/or dinner. I decided to go for:

Makrud Manaw, RM 15.90

This was a Thai dish, specifically Pad Kra Pao? The dish includes brown rice + minced chicked with brinjal + an egg + tomatoes. Man, this dish was delicious, I kid you not. I had the same dish at Streat Thai at Nexus Bangsar South the other day and this dish was alot better than that, for reals. I was pleasantly surprised. On top of that, GOClean provided me a large portion of it, which meant that I had plenty tonlast me till the very last spoonful of rice. Burp!

Curry Leaf Butter Chicken, RM 15.90

This dish was a little in the dry side. I wish the Curry Leaf Butter Chicken came with more butter sauce but I do understand why the lack of. This is after all a HEALTHY food delivery service that serves food that is within certain calory count and so, adding some butter sauce may just pile on additional, wasteful calories. It may or may not be a problem for you. My friend enjoyed it just the way it was, I on the other hand would have prefered it with a little more gravy.

Anyways, the gravy issue aside, this too was a tasty dish. The distinct taste of butter chicken was evident. I loved the fact that they added in quite a bit of curry leaves, that provided an ‘extra kick’ to the dish overall. Just like the other dish, the items here were generous in portion size too. Quite a bit of well flavored, dense yet chewy chicken pieces, with a side of tofu, salad and an egg.

Overall, the meals were awesome. It was a breeze ordering food via GOClean. I’d certainly revisit them in the future.
