Runners Cafe @ Paramount Garden, PJ - Nescafe Gold and Matcha Cheesecake? Ooo my 😍😍

My friends told me about Runners Cafe. They enlightened me of the fact that the cheesecakes made here are the bomb. Really?? The curious me got on to their FB page to check out some comments, reviews and it was apparent that many peeps share the same positive sentiments as my friends. So okaylah, since I was craving for some desserts anyway, this would be a good time to try the cheesecake.

Runners Cafe is a full fledge restaurant. At the moment though, the restaurant side of things are closed. This means that there is NO DINING IN. The online bakery however, is open and they offer an array of cheesecakes.

The chesecakes here comes in all sorts of combinations. You’d literally be spoilt for choice. Best part is all their cakes comes at a discounted price of at least 47% off. That’s almost half the price and it has been going on for months, ever since the MCO began.

I decided to go with the ongoing 11.11 promo. Through this, I get to taste three different cakes for the price of one.

If you like distinct taste of Nescafe, Matcha and cheesecake, then you’d love this… because this is what I’d refer to as a rather potent and dense dessert. I am sure you can tell from the images above. This is not one of those light, fluffy and airy cakes. Just a small slice of it can fill you up.

The cakes were not too sweet. It has just the right amount of sweetness. The taste of matcha was strong but not overpowering. Just enough for it to last until the end where it gives you that slight bitter-ish ‘kick.’ If you are a Matcha lover, you’d love this.

Between the two though, I liked the Nescafe Gold Burnt Cheesecake best. While the taste of coffee is strong, it was more subtle than the Matcha. It blended well. Also, I like coffee but impartial to Matcha, hence why I prefer this than that.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the cakes I purchased. As mentioned earlier, this is a ‘potent’ cake. It is thick, dense and compact. If texture-wise, light and fluffyness is more up your alley, then you will not enjoy this as much as I did. If you are all about the flavor, then yeah. This would do it for you. No matter which cheesecake combination you order, rest assured that you’d be getting your moneys worth.
