Okay, as the heading says – Restoran Pik Wah was an accidental find. How so? I fully intended to visit a new cafe down the road. Heard of Mary Jane? I was initially headed there for lunch, it looked beautiful. The top floor had this pink bed of flowers that I saw was making its rounds on social media, food was apparently good too. As I arrived at the entrance though, it was evidently a fullhouse. Silly me thought I could simply walk in and get a table. Nope. Best you make reservations, folks, prior to your visit because walkins would need to wait 90 minutes at least π³π³π³π±π±.
As I did not have 90 minutes to spare, I decided to head on over to Pik Wah instead. Since it was not around during my last visit here, I assume its new – a few months old, at least? It is located opposite Da Bao – Da Bao Restobar @ Petaling Street β Awesome Bao β¦. yum! and within the same row as Merchant Lane, just down the street.
*** There is another Pik Wah in Chinatown that has been around for 40 years, which is consistent with the ‘since 1971’ seen at this newer Pik Wah. Perhaps this is the second outlet? π€π€ I can’t find any connections on their FB page though.

They have some funky wall art too, which I can make no sense of, lol.

Roast Chicken with BBQ Pork Rice + Roast Chicken with BBQ Pork Noodle , RM 10.50 + Pumpkin Barley, RM 3.40

Food was pretty good. I liked the BBQ pork, it was sweet and succulent. There were crispy bit all around the pork which made it even more appealing. It was an awesome addition to the rice and noodles. The roast chicken was tender and juicy, each piece came in a generous portion size. The noodles were nice and springy. Overall, enjoyable food.
The Pumpkin Barley was a rather unusual drink. I cant say I’ve come across this combination before and so, it piqued my interest. Tastewise, it was pretty good. Sweetness was rather mild and so, the taste of pumpkin puree and barley would be the first thing you’d taste. There was no flavoring used, you’d literally be able to see bits of pumpkin mash and barley floating about. Nice.
