I came across W when I was looking up for new cafes in KL on Google and among mentioned was this one. They sounded familar and upon some digging online, I know why. I am pretty sure I’ve seen them in Bangsar and not only that, there apparently are a few other outlets spread around KL. Glad I finally decided to give them a go because food was good.
I visited their latest outlet. Newly opened and operating since January 2021, this cafe is located in Dataran Prima. We have been to this particular side of Aman Suria to cover another cafe , – CREAM / The Roast Things @ Aman Suria, PJ – A nice place to chill. If you’ve been to Dataran Prima, you’d know that it is a square filled with offices, businesses and restaurants. Basically, lots of folks work there and so, trying to get parking on the ground floor itself is very difficult as most of it are reserved. Worry not as there is a basement parking lot right in the middle of the square for visitors at an hourly rate of RM 2.50, within walking distance to the cafe.
At the time of my arrival, it was full house … no surprise there as it was peak hour, lunch time. Not only do the office folks drop by, cafe hoppers do too. A rather popular cafe in the area, indeed. As you can tell from the images above, W is a rather small cafe but it is well spaced out, can accommodate more than 30 peeps at one time.
Customer service was great, I was impressed. The front of house was basically managed by one guy and one guy only, an older gentleman that was really good, efficient. When I arrived, all tables were occupied. So, I waited at the side – thoughtful of them to place some benches for us to sit on. This gentleman came over, we talked for a bit. As soon as a table emptied, he very quickly went over to clear and sanitize the table, I was seated in no time. Everything on the menu sounded good … I needed some help in making up my mind. He provided all the assistance needed with recommendations. I then headed to the counter to order. Despite the fullhouse, food arrived within 10 minutes. The overall flow, the process from when I first entered the cafe down to me leaving – it was easy peasy. I had no issues at all.

Skinny Hawaiian Pizza, RM 15.90 + Chilli Pasta with Miso Minced Chicken, RM 14.90
Ooo the pizza was yummy. It is thin crusted but not the usual crispy, slightly harden base. Nope, the ones here were thin but it had a roti canai kindda texture – dense and stretchy. Definitely an awesome base, I loved it. The tomoto sauce surprisingly did not come off too strong, which dependant in the mood I am in, is what I fancy. There were plenty of chicken pieces, pineapples, cheese and tomatoes. A generous amount of toppings with tasty sauce and a thin, soft base made up a yummy pizza. I loved it.
To me, this dish could easily pass of as a rice bowl or pan mee, which according to their menu was intended. The only difference was that they have swap the rice and the thick pan mee noodles with pasta instead. It was tasty, something different and rather unique.
Besides pasta, the dish also came with a poached egg, anchovies, dry chili sambal, cucumber, tomatoes and minced chicken. Once everything is mixed up, it was tasty … not too spicy, flavorful. I enjoyed it. Both dishes ordered were good, the overall experience here was positive. If I am in the area again, I wouldn’t mind heading back here for another visit.
