Three Years Old Cafe @ Jalan Sin Chew Kee, KL - Good Food 😍

This is a relatively new cafe, about 3 months old? They started business right smack in the midst of the Covid19 pandemic. Three Years Old is located right behind VCR KL along Jalan Galloway, downtown KL.

I’ve been wanting to drop by for the longest time but every time I checked out their FB page, their operating hours tab says ‘Closed Now’ and their last post was on 19th April, stating that they are still looking for kitchen staff. During the whole month of May and till yesterday noon – there were no new updates.

So, as a customer, when you see this and the lack of updates, we naturally think its closed. Especially now, when no dining in is allowed and the most popular way to look for updates, menu and order is via the eateries’ social media pages … it can be easily assumed that if a business does not update their social media page at a crucial time like this, the business is most probably closed, right?

For some reason, they only update their Instagram page. What about FB ? 🤔🤔 . Atleast post a status that clearly indicate that all further updates are via Instagram only for nowla… What about us FB users huh 😭😭😭

Anyways, long story short – we checked out Google review and found that the latest review was dated a week ago, which meant that this cafe has been opened all along. On top of that, we called them to double check and yup, its open.

During the MCO period, no entry if allowed inside the cafe (indoors) and so, all orders and interactions occurs at the entrance. We arrived and then looked through the Menu, placed our order, paid and waited for about 10 minutes to collect our food. In that 10 minutes, we sat down for a while and then decided to walk around for a little bit … we discovered Pahit next door – a bar/restaurant that looked pretty cool. Once dining in is allowed again, Pahit will definitely be seeing me…

Yup, saving this for another time..

Ala Carte: Grilled Chicken Sandwich, RM 25

Oooooo, this was ‘sedap’ !! 😍😍 There are times whereby you pay RM 20, 30 ish for a dish and what you’d get is a smaller portion than expected? Yea well, this is not that… here, you get your moneys’ worth, large portions. A good portion of delicious grilled chicken.

Just look at that serving of flavorful cajun grilled chicken 😍😍 yummm.!! The meat with sourdough and a sprinkle of sunflowerseeds – delicious. The sandwich comes with a serving of rocket salad 👌👌

Set: Carborara, RM 33

Another yummy dish. The Carborara (nope, its not a spelling mistake, lol) was thick and gooey, with plenty of ham, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes. Sedap ooooo. As this was a set meal, this dish came with a side of white coffee and canelè.
