This time, lunch was from this restaurant located along Lorong Ara Kiri 2, in Lucky Gardens, Bangsar. ADU Sugar serves a modern take on South East Asian cuisine and is headed by a locally reknown chef – Adu Amran Hassan.
The restaurant is located on the top floor, above Klinik Chong. For now, untill MCO is over, customers are not allowed to head up. So basically, we rang the bell that was located near the door. No one answered. Then we proceeded to call, someone answered and soon enough, someone came down to take our orders, payment was made and was told to wait 20 minutes.
There is NO ‘pay when collect’ here. They expect payment to be made when the orders are taken.
(All Time Faves Combo 1) Laksa Johor & Bihun Soto Ayam, RM 50
Let me be honest here, I cant really say if the dishes were mediocre, good or excellent. The number of times I’ve tasted either one of these dishes throughout my lifetime is basically lesser than the five fingers on one hand. Yes, lesser than 5 times. So, what I have is a lack of experience 😁
Food was good. I enjoyed the Soto more than I did the Laksa. I think I am generally not a fan of Johor Laksa? Usually, people either like it or not. I guess I am the latter. I also do not like spahetti being used in these sort of soupy dishes. However, I did like the thick, flavorful gravy. That was delicious.
The Chicken Soto was pretty good. The chicken soup was tasty, with peanuts, shredded chicken, 3 chicken bergedil and mee hoon. This I enjoyed.
