Today, we ‘bungkus’ lunch from REXKL. It has been ages since I’ve last dropped by. Well, honestly… it feels like it has been ages since I’ve last had some somelight against my skin too. Some buildings around me are under EMCO – barb wires and the whole works and so, knowing all this… naturally the best thing to do was to stay indoors. Hence why there were no new blog post the last few days.
Anyways, here I was, at REXKL …

As you enter in, the first eatery you’d see is Flaaah. They make pastries – croissants specifically.

Since I was on the lookout for something more filling for lunch, I decided to give Flaaah a pass this time. Some other time perhaps.
Next came Phils Pizza … If the name sounds familiar, it is because you most probably came across them in Bangsar, along Jalan Telawi 2. The one at REXKL is their second outlet and have been operating for the past 2 months.

There were 3 available flavors at my time of visit: Pepperoni, Hot Wings and Truffle Mushroom .
Hot Wing, RM 7 + Truffle Mushroom, RM 14

Both slices of pizza was tasty. It would have been a whole lot better if it was heated up but my microwave was out of order, so … cold pizza it was. Still tasty though. The pizza base tasted like Foccacia, understandable as it is all similar – an oven baked flat bread, right?
The Hot Wings was a chicken pizza with sweet sauce. I think it was meant to have some spiciness to it. Isn’t that what Hot Wings generally is about? Yea, no spiciness here. It was sweet-ish with chicken bits scattered all over. I kindda like it. The Truffle Mushroom is a vegetarian pizza. You’d get mushroom with truffle oil sprinkled everywhere. This pizza was simple and straight to the point. What you see is what you get. I enjoyed this slice. Do heat it up once you are back home as it is best eaten warm/hot.
Next to Phil’s, is the one month old Pasta Lahh.

When asked what’s the crowd favorite, I was told that its Mario’s Chick and Butter Dont Chicken Out.
Butter Dont Chicken Out, RM 18

This is a buttermilk pasta. The pasta as a whole was thick and gooey. I loved it. I loved the fact that each mouth I took, there was plenty of buttermilk. To some, the buttermilk may seem a little too thick and so, do let the chef know your preference. The pasta also came with 4 long, crumbly pieces of chicken. Overall, it was a yummy dishπ
