Lunch for the day is from this one year old restaurant located in Damansara Heights. As its name suggest, the eatery serves Minang cuisine. It was an unplanned visit. We initially were headed elsewhere, however upon reaching our destination, the cafe was closed. So, we drove around for a bit and ended up in Damansara Heights. We aimlessly continued to drive around the block till we came across something that caught our eye – MinangKapau.

I have not had Minang food for a long while, last was perhaps back in 2015 during a short stint in Indonesia. So, by no means do I have sufficient experience to judge wether or not the food here is authentic. I do however know that this particular cuisine is always laden with oil, greasy. The food at Minang Kapau though is perhaps a healthier version of this cuisine. Food was less greasy and in case you did not notice, they also offer some dishes that are ‘Keto’ friendly. Healthier version indeed.

The Set Ayam Salai Lemak Cili Api was pretty good. The set included a piece of chicken with gravy + rice and cucumber. My favorite dish was Ayam Balado. It had a sweet and spicy thing going on, a perfect dish to eat with rice. Add on some Terung Balado if you are in need for some vegetables and it is complete.
