The several times I’ve passed this eatery in the past, there usually was a waiting line outside, a pretty long one. Been wanting to give them a try but the MCOs and the 10 km limit prevented that from happening … until recently. So, here I was, finally.
DayOne DayOne offer Taiwanese, Japanese fusion cuisine. Solely judging from its name, I assumed it would be all about noodles here but nope, they also have rice bowls, baos and many other things. Scrolling through their Menu, everything looked good but eventually, my friend and I landed on sharing one noodle and one rice dish and our picks – it was the best decision everrrrrr. Yummmmm.

Japanese Pork Cutlet Noodles, RM 20.90 + Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl, RM 20.90
Rice Bowl
The rice bowl arrived first. If I am not mistaken, the concept is similar to an Omurice? Soft, gooey rice with an egg wrap-around? Am I right? 🤔🤔 It was lovely. Eating the egg with the gooey rice was nice enough, add in the teriyaki chicken and it was da’ bomb. There was about 4,5 pieces of tender boneless chicken doused in some sweet sauce. Delicious it was. The dish also comes with a side of tomatoes, greens.
Noodles
Ooooo, the pork cutlet was really good. Crispy on the outside, meaty and juicy on the inside. The noodles were similar to wan tan mee texture, tasted like it too and it came with some pieces of pork fat, spring onions and half an egg. The combination of the cutlet and noodles was great. Heck, even having the cutlet with rice was awesome. To me, it certainly was the star of the dish. The pork cutlet. So yummmmm 😍.
